A showing of Al Gore's movie was also snowed out. But if anyone doubts this "global warming" it is akin to denying the holocuast!!!

Once Again Democrats, completely incapable of embarassment!

Climate change is another word for global warming. Climate change, if you read about it, is not about every single part of the world warming up, but rather more extreme cold and hot temperatures. Polar ice caps melting disrupt deep sea ocean flow, which causes different parts of the country and world to experience unusually cold or extreme weather conditions.

But I'm not surprised simple-minded people like to act smug simply because they call it 'global warming'.

I guess you don't understand what global warming is. Nobody said there wouldn't be any more ice storms, or snow. The climate is changing, not the daily weather.

Likewise, when the temps hit 100 degrees during a summer heatwave, that ain't proof of global warming, either.

So why don't they call it "global climate change" or is that next?

The facts are that the carbon dioxide levels now are no where near what they were sixty years ago? This planet is millions of years old, and we have acurate weather history for what maybe the last 200 hundred years, and from that you can catagorically claim that the earth's temperate is going up? I understand if ir takes you a while to get back to me, as you have to go out and shovel your driveway first.

Once agian, if this was so important to Al Gore why didn't he sign the Kyoto accord when he and Bill were under the desk in the oval office? DOesn't seem a little disingenuos that he only comes out for this thing, after he was voted out of office? Seriously, if he believes so strongly, why didn't he do something about it, when he had the chance?

Seriously, we have to come up with a new layman's term other than "Global warming." It makes it easier for people to be ignorant. Like the "theory of evolution": critics say that it is just another theory, unwilling or unable to understand that "theory" in a scientific context ain't just a wild guess, but is supported by a whole lot of evidence.

What a rambling post. You're throwing everything in there, saying there's no problem, we don't have enough data to know if there's a problem, and alternatively that there may be a problem but that Al Gore is a hypocrite (which I have no arguments with). I guess we'll go one at a time.

It's six one way half dozen the other, scientists are very clear on what they mean by global warming - CLIMATE CHANGE. We can argue about names all we want, but "it is what it is".

What? What does that mean? There's less CO2 in our atmosphere than there was 60 years ago? Sure...

We have measurements of temperature, as well as CO2 levels, going back millenia, they're called sediment core samples. Nobody doubts that the Earth is warming, maybe you could make a weak argument that humans aren't responsible, but denying that the Earth is warming is like denying gravity.
Well, yeah, Al Gore's a politician. He's an opportunist, he's dishonest. He doesn't speak for me, and the crap that comes out of his mouth doesn't influence the science one way or another.

This is a very, very ignorant statement. Weather patterns should be expected to fluctuate into normalcy despite the ominous changes associated with global warming/climate change. Have you forgotten what it was like in December already? We get reminded of what winter is *supposed* to be like and suddenly global warming is a sham. You're the one who should be embarrassed.

Weather is the news, climate is history.. the past three years are the warmest on record. To anecdotally comment on an ice storm and relate it to global warming begs the issue, sound like Drudge if fueling this.

Please reference source that the past 3 are the warmest on record?

    Which record?

In the recent past (geologically speaking) temps were 3C warmer than they are now (the mid-evil warming period).
