This year the Patriots adjusted cap number ($139,109,051) is 6 million more than the league cap number of 133 million. I project that the 2015 Patriots adjusted cap number will be no higher than 1 million than the 2015 league number, whatever it is. The 2015 Patriots adjusted cap number could even be lower than the league if there are more Patriots who have reached NLTBE incentives than I know about. For example, if Brandon Lafell has incentives in his contract they were NLTBE and he probably reached them. We know that Brandon Browner has $1.25 million in playing-time incentives but not the trigger levels. Lately, he has been playing 100% of the defensive snaps.

So you're saying that the Pats sacrificed some cap flexibility in future years so as to sign a bunch of players for this season? :)

That can't be right. We have been told by the media the Pats sacrificed this year for later years. And the media is never wrong.

Cannon's contract also used up a bunch.
