I think there'll be some serious coaching attrition this season.

    My list includes:

    Billick
    Childress
    NORV-seriously
    Andy Reid
    Tom Coughlin
    Marvin Lewis
    Joe Gibbs

Curious how this migh impact the Pats, specifically with Josh McDaniels name being brought up quite a bit as an HC candidate.

McDaniels will probably be gone. Even if he shouldn't be.

McD is actually hurt by Moss' presence here. Many teams will attribute the success of the O to having Moss, and to having a sure lock HOF QB. Not many teams looking for a HC have such assets.

What about the Genius? You think he's staying?

Eric 'The Rat' gets one more year. Fired after finishing 3rd behind the Bills in 2008.

    #12 Jersey

AJ Smith is a great GM when it comes to the draft unfortunately he cannot pick a coach to save his life. While I'm not a big Cowher fan he would actually be a good fit there. They need a Pom Pom guy to get them pumped up and keep them in line.

Norv was trying to talk to LT last night and you could see he had tuned him out. If the Bolts bring him back it's a huge mistake.

Seriously doubt that Marvin Lewis will be gone after this season. Remember where the Cincy team were when he took over the HC job there ? 1-15 the season before, if I remember correctly. They couldn't even fill the stadium at that time. During most of Lewis' tenure in Cincy they've gotten explosive on offence, and have been playoff participants for the first time in over a decade.

This season they've been shredded to pieces through injuries, and with very limited cap room to make up for this, they've still managed a shot at a playoff berth. That cannot be the fault of the HC the way I see it. At the very least, Marwin Lewis is far more secured than say Billick at Baltimore.

Lewis is a terrible head coach. He should not keep his job.

I don't know about HC's, but Indy's special teams coach deserves the boot. Two weeks in a row that special teams play killed the Colts.

    Regards,
    Chris

Barring another Giants second half collapse, Coughlin has saved his job.

Lewis and Coughlin keep their jobs.

Billick has been able to keep his job despite his ineptitude, so it really is difficult to figure whether or not he'll be gone. He absolutely should be unemployed by Jan. 15, though.

Childress will get a pass, it's only his second season. I don't think he'll be gone.

    Norv- Most assuredly.

Reid- Probably not, unless he chooses to go.

Coughlin- He's stolen another year from that organization. He'll be there in '08 barring a monumental collapse.

Lewis, a defensive "mastermind," will be gone. It's going to either be him or Chad Johnson, and Johnson adds more to that team than Lewis.

Gibbs- A return to NASCAR would suit him nicely.

I think Bobby Petrino might bolt, given the absolutely horrendous state that organization is in. He may pull a Saban but if he has a shot at drafting his college QB he'd probably stay.

John Gruden is an interesting name to consider.

Billick- Not sure how far that Superbowl lends the mulligan.
Maybe Ray Lewis should be the coach.
Billick might do better with another team.
Childress-I know a lot of their fans don't like him but...screw that, he'll be gone in 08.
NORV-Doubt if he makes it through the season.
Andy Reid-He stays. He's had too much success to boot him for this seasons' disaster.
Tom Coughlin- Giants go to play offs- he stays. If they don't, he's gone.
    Marvin Lewis-See Andy Reid.
Joe Gibbs- He shouldn't because of who he is and what he's accomplished for that organization...Snyder's heartless, though.(Not that that's a bad thing in the NFL.)
Eric Mangini- Maybe the Jets FO want to replace him with that guy up in NE. I mean, look at all those points he's got those guys scoring. :p

Marvin Lewis has had too much success? The guy has had like one winning season. But hey, if you want 8-8 with half your team getting arrested, Marvin is your guy for the job!

Ah yes, Jon Gruden. That IS a name to consider. Good thing he won a super bowl his first season or he'd be a slam dunk for a mid-season firing.
I like when they asked him about camera gate. He looked confused or nervous, maybe even defensive about it. I wonder why.

I think Josh will learn from Mangini and wait a couple years.

    You think Mangini survives?

I think he might be canned before the Pats game on December 16th!

YES YES GOD YES. Since Russ Purnell has been special teams coach the special teams has declined to the bottom or very near nearly every year. He is completely inept and always has been.

I agree. Never heard his name mentioned as someone who is on the cusp of becoming an HC either.
