Has anyone picked the Pats to win?

My guinea pig Yoshi picked them ... he is always right about everything.

Colin Cowherd made some great points on how people are overrating the Giants defense and acting like the Pats have no chance, especially since the last time they played NE had 4 TOs and 400+ yards of offense and was leading going into the Two minute warning. Finally someone pointed out the obvious.

Sad that it took Colin blowhard to state the case.

I'm pretty sure Joe Montana picked the Pats.

I'm pretty sure Joe Montana picked the Pats.

He said he thinks the giants have more talent. I didn't see where joe made a pick per se.

Listen, I am as nervous as anyone for this game. But then again, I was really nervous before Denver, so what do I know?

But the love that the Giants get is really puzzling to me. I saw a stat where the Giants had 1 more sack than the Patriots have had over the last five games, yet the Giants (undersized) defensive line is otherworldly while the Patriots is getting little credit.

Additionally, all these analysts are claiming that they would take Eli over Brady because of the season Eli had, but Brady had an all time great season this year, far and above anything Eli did this year (and that's not to discount Eli's season). But just because Eli didn't have has team ahead in the 4th quarter and had to lead his team back on more occasions than Brady doesn't make him the better (or more clutch) quarterback. Clutch Eli won 9 games this season with a negative point differential, whereas Brady won 13 games.

I just don't get all the love. Yes, the Giants have been playing well recently, and deserve to be in this game, but I don't think they have been hotter than the Patriots who have won more games consecutively. It just doesn't make sense to me...

You can all make your own picks here:

SportsNation Polls - SportsNation - ESPN

I encourage you all to do as I did and pick, "Giants in a blowout."

Since what we pick isn't going to affect the game's result one way or another I want to help build the Giants belief that this will be a piece of cake while helping to give the Patriots and even larger "chip."

Right now there's over 15,000 votes and 82% have picked the Giants (either close or in a blowout).

That's just going make it all the more fun Sunday when they all learn how right they were because the Giants truly were "in a blowout." As victims.

Which moron in Vegas decided that our Patiots should be 3 point favorites? Hardly anyone outside of New England thinks that they can win. Hell, some of our local homer media even think that their chances are slim. :bricks:

The Las Vegas line does not have anything to do with who is the favorite. It is based on getting people to bet in a way that the house will win no matter how the game turns out.

I never understand why people always say this.

Yes, they make their $$$ in the margins, and that's also why they decided the Patriots giving 3 points would be good for business. It would make people take that bet. But, since 65% of the betting public is taking that bet, Vegas stands to lose a heap of money if the Patriots don't win.

Therefore, Vegas is taking the Patriots.

I noticed that too. If Vegas was strictly trying to get a balance between the two teams the line would have dropped more by now until it got close to 50-50. If they did that though the sharps would swoop in and jump on the Pats as a pick or plus one. I don't doubt they'll still do that; they'll just be patient and wait till the last moment in hopes of getting the best line possible from one casino that flinches.

Another thing to keep in mind: I read somewhere that Vegas has only lost money on the Super Bowl twice in the last 21 years. I like the odds of the team that is only getting 35% of the action based on that history.

One last thing to consider: who knows more about this game: the professional handicappers, or the so-called experts at BSPN, NFLN, and the New York newspapers?

I am nervous as hell because of the "what if" factor... But I have a hunch the Pats win by 2 or more possessions.

Everyone is making Elite the best QB ever.. I just think he is going to **** the bed.

I was watching a basketball game tonight (college) and both announcers picked the Giants to win, one of them said "It won't be close either. 31-7" I was shocked because I couldn't remember the last time we were held to single digits. It's been a minute. I really haven't heard anyone taking New England. I don't have access to either local media, living in Ohio.

We have to just face it. Only a small percentage of "experts" believe we can win. No sense in looking for comfort there. We win Sunday. That is all.

"Only a small percentage of "experts" believe we can win."

This widespread sentiment has stood the Patriots in good stead in the past. They need a Rodney Harrison to make it a mantra.

Another Giant obstacle - BostonHerald.com

Ian. R Rapport picked the pats. However, Karen Guregian, Ron Borges pick the Giants. Steve Buckley really does not make a pick. He simply says that if Gronk does not play the Giants will win. If he plays well the Pats will win.

Clay Mathews likes Pats, just on Mike and Mike.

I have decided Jackie MacMullan is the only one worth paying attention to this week because she's proved it through informative and enjoyable articles. She's taking the Pats after being around the team? That's good enough for me.

Meatball and Mangirl (aka Mike and Mike) both picked the Giants. Meatball 17-14 and Mangirl 34-20, I believe. Chris Berman picked the Pats 27-24. Montana waffled saying that the Giants will win if they can get to Brady and if not, they pretty much have no chance. C. Carter picked the Giants 324-0. Oh, wait, that'll come Sunday.

Michael Lombardi picks Pats 30-20 on D&C.

I love that most people are picking against the Pats. I think this team has always thrived on disrespect, perceived or real. With the Giants shooting off their mouths and everyone saying the Pats are going to lose, this team is going to be fired up like they were vs. the Broncos.
