Ah, the opening of summer training camp.

For years, marked by the daily posts of Mrs. B, something we look forward to each year.

Over the past couple years, the traditional credentialed media have begun to copy her approach, offering multiple similar accounts. However, the Patriots have asked the credentialed media to restrict their reporting - no mentions of formations, of line-ups, etc. Not sure how this will be enforced, but that's the deal. The un-credentialed media, however, have no restrictions. So, once again, Mrs. B should stand out.

Will she be posting here as well, or only on her website? I need to find the link to her site again.

Woo Hoo this is my favorite time of the year. :woohoo:

Mrs. B's reports are AWESOME. I can't always get the time off to go down to training camp. I hope to get some time off this year though.

I wish I didn't live on the west coast. I'd love to see some training camp fun on my b-day (today) lol.

I always enjoy her reports..she has been a REAL inspiration to me to get to camp...and I will..but not today :(

So, once again, Mrs. B should stand out.

Couldn't agree more, Mrs B has, and always will, "stand out" for the Pats fans during training camp!!! :singing: Thanks in advance for your personal reports Karen!

Starting reading these 2 years ago and now it is the highlight of the training camp season. Thanks Mrs. B!

The scurrilous rumors that Mrs B would accept a sweetheart deal on Jets season tickets have thankfully been discredited.

Mrs.B reports are a "must read"....

Enforcing the credentialed media from reporting on details is simple enough; it could range from not letting them in the next day to denying them access to press conferences, or to the press box for games.

With so many fan sites for every team in the NFL it makes me wonder if at some point a team will make fewer practices available to fans. If somebody like Mrs. B offers genuinely good information about training camp could it ever become a resource for opposing teams? That may seem far-fetched today, but I wouldn't completely discount that possibility in the future.

Perhaps, but there are two things working against restricting fan access:

1. Fan loyalty = $.

2. Mrs. B and the rest of the campers who post stories are very rarely in violation of the three "don'ts" Mike Reiss blogged about this morning. Even when they are, it's such a small sample of what is going on on the practice field that's it's meaningless in value for anyone but avid fans enjoying a coach's quip or a one glance report on a special formation. Mosquito bites at worst.

Sigh, sniff, sniffle...... :(

Well, at least Casale is thousands of miles away, face down on the floor of some Reno casino.

"It’s Patriots Training Camp Eve and I can feel that familiar excitement building…! It’s going to be strange not attending every single session because of work but I’ll get there as much as I can. With the advent of technology and “Old Media” embracing “New Media” and the fact that I won’t be there every session, I’ve decided to forgo my traditional Mrs. B’s Training Camp Reports. I still may make some posts but the sense of urgency and need to rush home and drop everything to post is no longer necessary......."

Yeah, Mrs. B wasn't there this morning. She said she'll be there this afternoon though.

I believe you meant to say 'biting some pillow in a Nevada brothel.' :snob:

Yeah, I love Mrs B's reports. This is a great time of year. I've already started to redo the TV room, set up the Patriots Shrine and begin planning the snackage and beverage lists... :)
