    I don't know where you got that electoral map, but it is most certainly not an accurate representation of the results of this (or any) past presidential election.

    My hometown is a pretty happy place. Where I live now? Not so much...not overly surprising.

    I grew up in the north, schooled on truthisms about how the southerners were dumb rednecks. I moved south for my job, I discovered that overall people tended to be much more racially integrated and concerned less with appearance than those where I came from.

    Obviously happiness is pretty subjective so I wouldn't place a lot of weight on the chart. Still, I think there is something related to happiness and caring what others think. Northerners might learn something from that.
