I'd gladly donate money to his charity to have him waterboarded.

also would be fun to see if we could get him to confess a few things to see how well it works.

Maybe an admission of talking points given to him from the Bush administration?

Hannity Offers To Be Waterboarded For Charity (By Charles Grodin!)

how many people think Hannity will go through with this?

I think he will, and I hope he does. Not because I love/hate him, just because it's a little admirable if he puts money where his mouth is (sorry for the awful cliche). If it's for charity, all the better.

Hannity has raised a lot of money for the families of KIA. Good for him.

Yes I do. I think he will able to speak to whether it is 'torture' after all we do it to trainees on a regular basis. It has been stopped as a with regular troops but I believe guys like the Seals, Rangers, Green Berets are exposed to this during training.

Yes they are submitted to it. I'm pretty sure I know what Hannity will say as to whether it's torture or not...

This One Will Get Me Slapped Around A Little:

Yes, he'll do it many interrogaters have done it, FBI Agents, CIA Agents, Army interrogaters, these people all did it before applying it to the savages, Hannity knows it will be uncomfortable and he also knows he won't die or be injured.

The "Inhuman" kind of waterboarding that is real deadly and torturous is the method Uncle Teddy used on Mary Jo, he used his car to waterboard then finished the procedure by simply, walking away.

I read this and a couple of things come to mind, waterboarding alone denotes that he is prepared for the event.. perhaps a better way is put a black sack over his head, transport him some out of the way place, mess with his day night cycle, then play with him some more before he is waterboarded.

This is just a publicity stunt that he can prepare for.... of course we know the outcome, he could have a cardiac arrest and he will still say it is not torture.

If a radio entertainer can undergo this it will be harder to sell this to the American people as torture whe applied to mass murderers. This will annoy the left no end, great idea. MAybe Rush will join in....

Not sure what you mean, but that is not new, I suggested a method that may replicate actual waterboarding....

Hannity will never be exposed to the full flavor version of it, if he ever goes through with it.

That is a keen sense of the DUH!!!!

see, this is the light version... not the full flavor.

If you think waterboarding is just a towel over the head... you're wrong.

    Believe Me, It's Torture | vanityfair.com

It's a stunt anyways: you need to be kidnapped by foreign troops, placed in detention, and then waterboarded to get a good analogy. Psychologists will point out that doing something involuntarily is entirely different from doing it voluntarily.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with the Vanity Fair comment. The point is that a "personality" has already undergone waterboarding, in response to 13's claim that a media personality might sway opinion, one way or another. FYI, he's an ex-liberal who's moved to the right, and supported the Iraq War. He's also kind of an idiot.

I actually cought the Grodin interview, which reminded of why I don't like Hannity. I could take the show at times when Colmes was on there, but Hannity alone is just waaaaaaaay too much. It's like trying to watch Odorman, or Maddow. The 3 of them are biased propogandists. No thanks.

That being said I hope he does it. It'd be great for charity, and it would be interesting to see how he percieves it thereafter. I think it was Christopher Hitchens who was voluntarily waterboarded, and came away changing his tune about it, citing it as being torture. I'm opposed to physical abise of inmates, or torture. I'm not opposed to coercive measures of interogation. Waterboarding is right along that line to me. I don't truly know what it is, or how it's done, but I can't imagine it's pleasurable. I guess I could go either way on it. I'd personally only allow by executive order, if it indeed is a succesfull measure of extracting information. Of course, that's without knowing how it is specifically performed.

I'll say. He agrues out of both sides of his mouth throughout the piece but does in the end come out against it in scathing terms:

The team who agreed to give me a hard time in the woods of North Carolina belong to a highly honorable group. This group regards itself as out on the front line in defense of a society that is too spoiled and too ungrateful to appreciate those solid, underpaid volunteers who guard us while we sleep. These heroes stay on the ramparts at all hours and in all weather, and if they make a mistake they may be arraigned in order to scratch some domestic political itch. Faced with appalling enemies who make horror videos of torture and beheadings, they feel that they are the ones who confront denunciation in our press, and possible prosecution. As they have just tried to demonstrate to me, a man who has been waterboarded may well emerge from the experience a bit shaky, but he is in a mood to surrender the relevant information and is unmarked and undamaged and indeed ready for another bout in quite a short time. When contrasted to actual torture, waterboarding is more like foreplay. No thumbscrew, no pincers, no electrodes, no rack. Can one say this of those who have been captured by the tormentors and murderers of (say) Daniel Pearl? On this analysis, any call to indict the United States for torture is therefore a lame and diseased attempt to arrive at a moral equivalence between those who defend civilization and those who exploit its freedoms to hollow it out, and ultimately to bring it down. I myself do not trust anybody who does not clearly understand this viewpoint.

    But then:

Which returns us to my starting point, about the distinction between training for something and training to resist it. One used to be told—and surely with truth—that the lethal fanatics of al-Qaeda were schooled to lie, and instructed to claim that they had been tortured and maltreated whether they had been tortured and maltreated or not. Did we notice what a frontier we had crossed when we admitted and even proclaimed that their stories might in fact be true? I had only a very slight encounter on that frontier, but I still wish that my experience were the only way in which the words “waterboard” and “American” could be mentioned in the same (gasping and sobbing) breath.

Yeah, you can't really form an analysis that's comprised solely of value judgments.
