Yeah, even as a Bills fan I'd have to say that's laughable. He's coming back.

Do you think Brady is seriously considering retirement? I don't, he's too much of a competitor.

I guess I was laughing at the article itself - it probably should have been an Op-ed piece, and not an article.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. He'll retire sooner than we think, Jim Brown style. But not yet.

Just another non-story written to get someone to read it.

No way Brady is retiring until he gets 2 more rings.I would love to see him get over 300 TD passes.

Brady is one of the most competitive guy on the Patriots. No way does he retire. I think even if his body is telling him to retire, he won't retire without a fight. Brady is far more likely to be one of those guys who stays at the party too long and continues playing even when age and/or injuries has made him average to less than average (like Troy Brown) than to call it quits at this stage of his career because of an injury.

I agree completely. Didn't Reiss have a quote earlier this year where Brady was saying he wanted to play until he was 37 or 38? Tom Brady is one of the most competitive players in any sport I've ever seen. Barring leg amputation or something, I'd be shocked if I didn't see Tom out there on the field playing his ass off as soon as he possibly can.

I guess it was a slow day at the Metro...

Halloran is about as out of touch as anyone covering this team when it comes to getting IT. If you listened to him on radio at all you would grasp that. He's one of the handful of guys given insider access to this team (like the PFW guys only for Bob it's via All Access) who seem to have issues about the way things unfold here. They're like master misreaders of tea leaves dumped in their collective laps... And they all seem to subconsciously resent this team under Belichick. Maybe because they are in a position to see things they cannot receive credit for reporting or they'd be out of a job altogether...

Brady is competitively driven. Those guys miss the game more and find it harder to leave as long as they believe they can compete. The line of questioning he cited actually had to do with why Brady continues to strive in posession of 3 rings, and his answer spoke more to how he meant it when he said his favorite ring was the next one. Brady is diplomatic and genuinely humble but make no mistake he has his eye on GOAT. And lynchpin of a dynasty for the ages HE helped built from the ground floor up. Back in 2003 or 2004 when he was snubbed for the pro bowl Felger asked him if it pissed him off...his (supposed to be) off the record answer to Mike was F the pro bowl - I'm going to the HOF!

He's not going to retire. He's going to come back with a vengence and losing this season may ultimately result in his playing a year or two longer. He realizes there is a lot of life left after 38 or so while there will no longer be competitive football in his thereafter. He's not going to rush to that day.

Exactly. Speculation based solely upon a remark Brady made like 4 years ago. This reminds me of the Moss article someone posted the other day, and all it tells me is that the so-called media need to step away from their keyboards once in awhile and do something else besides be attention (even negative) ho's.

Halloran has some Borges in him. Last year when it was all hitting the fan, he solo hosted a few Saturday afternoons on WEEI and spewed some of the wildest anti-Pats (particularly BB) stuff.

But as you've also noted, you're new to the game and this team - we aren't. The Brady we've known since 2000 isn't walking away from this game until he has to. He's too proud and smart to do what Favre is doing to himself and others, but he won't hang 'em up until he knows he can't perform at the championship level to which he has consistently aspired.

Yeah, that makes sense. That's kind of what I meant, but perhaps I underestimate his drive.

I think it would be horrible to see him go down Favre-style or by a non-renewal of contract retirement. I believe he will leave on his terms.

Didn't like that one huh, lol. It was just for shock factor, nothing more.
