She must have been eating with trailer trash or something when she was in the states. At my dinner table growing up, we talked about everything from politics to phylosophy. I guess when you're dumb to begin with, and are a rich millionaire with no clue about real world life, talking jobs and money can seem uncivilized. She's a great actress and all, but man she's one ignorant C$!#. What is it with these rich, spoiled, out of touch, loser Hollywood types that makes them think insulting everyday Americans is wise?

It figures she idolizes Madonna. Funny how she thinks the two of them have had it bad in their lives. HA! Typical loons.

US actress Gwyneth Paltrow says Brits more intelligent and civilized than the Americans

    Dec 02 11:24 AM US/Eastern

Oscar-winning US actress Gwyneth Paltrow feels dinner talk is far more interesting in her adopted homeland Britain than back in her native country.
"I love the English lifestyle, it's not as capitalistic as America. People don't talk about work and money, they talk about interesting things at dinner," she told "NS," the weekend magazine supplement of daily Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias on Saturday.

"I like living here because I don't fit into the bad side of American psychology. The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans," the 34-year-old added.

Paltrow, who won a best actress Oscar for 1998's "Shakespeare in Love," lives in London with British band Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin whom she wed in 2003.

She said having US pop star Madonna, 48, who married British film director Guy Ritchie six years ago, nearby was another advantage to living in London.

"She's like an older sister. Everything I have gone through, she went through ten times worse and ten times longer. She gives me good advice about how to say no and take care of myself," said Paltrow.

Just more Hollywood bullsh!t from the wife swappers and super star HO's, do those idiots really think the American People care what they say, it's the scum bag media that plays all that crap up, most people that were watching those screaming banshees that run "The View" just changed channels when that little midget tub of sh!t DiVito went into his Bush Bashing, he made a fool of himself, it was the Media that pushed it onto the public.

When Divito was sitting on the Pigs lap (Rosie) it looked like a match made in heaven, Bush loved it, he laughed his a$s off at it.

Rosie O'Donnell should put a pair of her size 92 bloomers on DiVito's head and then lead him around on a dog leash. :singing: :rocker:

Gwenyth Paltrow is one of the hottest women in the world. What she says in public means notheing to me. It's what she says when we're together that matters to me...Oh wait...I'm getting reality confused with fantasy again!

This kind of patronising crap really annoys me, not to mention how insulting it is to the average American. She should come to work with me for a day and I'll show her some rather less civilised Brits, who rob people, take crack, sell it to kids and so on. She must be on a different planet if she thinks my country isn't "capitalistic". Duh!
It's the sort of crap spouted by people who believe that we all wear bowler hats, greet each other with "good morning, old chap", drink tea and play cricket on the village green. How lazy can you get with your stereotypes?

I've seen pictures of her clam Harry, trust me, you don't want to go there. She may think Americans are uncivilized, but after seeing her douche, her words could certainly be contrued as the pot calling the kettle black.

Someone shuld buy her one of these for CHRISTmas.

I don't mind the America bashing - I am used to that from the left wing. But what I enjoy the most is the hypocrisy. She celebrates how England is so much less "capitalistic" than America. Meanwhile, she takes about $15 million a film these days.

Yeah, capitalism sure has been rough to you, huh Gwennyth...?

Exactly. Capitalism sure sucks for her. Those socialist societies are much better when you make $15 million in AmeriKa, and don't have to worry about 48% income tax, or $8 a gallon gas.

I actually think she's a terrific actress. I love George Clooney, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, and Mel Gibson as actors too, no matter how idiotic they are. As I always say, people are free to say & do whatever they want. Just as long as they don't complain when people respond accordingly. I wouldn't boycott their movies either way. Not unless they really said something truly aweful.

What a stupid thing to say... She should stick to acting, at least she does that well.

They complain about our capitalism, but you go to any European city, those in England included, and you will see far more advertising hanging from wherever it can be placed than you see here in the US.

I'd say on the whole she's right, though... There's a higher level of education given to the average Brit, better/more educational television, and cheap travel to countries throughout the hemisphere. Of course, there's also yob culture, pikies, and scallies too, but I think she was referring to the average person you'd see shopping on the high street saturday morning.

'civilised' is a subjective term, however I will absolutely agree with her 'intelligent' remark. It's a cultural difference, not that Americans are inherently dumber or that Brits are inherently smarter, just that the conditions are such as to produce this outcome. Besides, when's the last time anyone in Britain saw fit to teach Biblical creation to school students???

Umm... British TV is far from intelligent, let alone educational.

most British citizens only have 5 channels of TV or fewer, though the popularity of Sky and other satellite networks is growing. Two (I think it's just two) of those are publicly-funded BBC, which is presenting the most artistic and edgy television that I've ever seen, simply because it's not bound by advertisers' fears of what offends viewers. And if nothing else, British children aren't force fed McDonald's advertisements on every channel. America needs better-funded public television very badly.

ITV is another matter, and I can't speak of Channel 5 as my house couldn't receive it...

That BBC sure is great, unadulterated television. Nothing like intelligent, civilized thought inducing programing. Afterall, they have 5 channels so they must be smarter and more civilized than we are.

BBC admits: We are biased on religion and politics

Internal corporation memo on ‘impartiality’ summit leaked to British media exposes truth on BBC bias

    Hagit Klaiman Published: 10.23.06, 16:10

LONDON – The British Broadcasting Corporation has been struggling for several years against criticisms and claims of biased reporting concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and distorted coverage of the global fight against terror.

Following a diplomatic incident with Israel, the BBC appointed an editor known for his objective reporting, however, the true stance of the corporation’s editors remained the same.

An internal memo, recently discovered by the British media, revealed what the BBC has been trying to hide. Senior figures admitted in a recent 'impartiality' summit that the BBC was guilty of promoting Left-wing views and anti-Christian sentiment.

Most executives admitted that the corporation’s representation of homosexuals and ethnic minorities was unbalanced and disproportionate, and that it leaned too strongly towards political correctness, the overt promotion of multiculturalism, anti-Americanism and discrimination against the countryside.

Okay to trash Bible, not Quran

A truly shocking revelation to come out of the summit was expected to invoke a storm in Britain, which has already reached the boiling point with regards to the treatment of Muslims and the issue of the veil.
