My guess for inactives

Childress ( hasn't practiced ) OR Gabriel ( hammy problem)
Mruczkowski
Britt
Hill
L.Smith
Sanders
Gay or Scott
Woods or Alexander

Any other ideas?

Why would Gabriel be inactive? He is probable...

Gay is perfectly fine and I expect him to be nickleback...hes been off PUP and playing for at least 3 preseason games.

This thread is boredom at its finest!

Though he has practiced this week,Chad Jackson?

My best guess:

Nick Kaczur - Just started practicing consistently this week, probably not ready
Gene Mruczkowski
Wesley Britt
Garrett Mills- Heath Evans can play RB/FB and plays on special teams. Thomas will be the 3rd tightend
Chad Jackson-missed practically all of camp, just started practicing this week, might not be ready
Marquise Hill
Le Kevin Smith
Willie Andrews or Pierre Woods

Some good ideas there

If Kaczur is inactive then I would guess Britt would be to have an extra tackle.

Mills and Andrews are good choices. I like your selections execept for the
Jackson selection. If he is healthy he is just to good to leave behind
even if only has practiced a small set of plays ...he surely can fill in
4th WR.

I like your list, but why do you say Bam hasn't practiced? He was only away from the team for 24 hours, if that. Why wouldn't he have practiced? Also, he has logged more time in preseason play than any other WR.

Bam has been doing preseason stuff. I do not think he has practice anything
for the Bills game. Usually BB doesn't let someone play if they haven't
practiced the game plan for the week.
Of course he could be active .... just my guess.

Um, Bam has been on the practice squad all week.

And someone's trying to say he hasn't practiced?

What else do practice squad players do?

Remember that during his time "away" he was still on the practice squad, i.e. on the field preparing. Plus he spent 2005 on the PS too, making him the WR with the second most experience in the Pats' offense!

There is NO WAY James Sanders will be inactive.

We need 7 inactives, and they appear they will all be healthy inactives (at least they COULD play)
2 OL (Mruc and Kaczur/Britt)
2 DL (Hill and Smith)
1 WR (guessing Jackson)
1 TE/FB (Evans or Mills)

I cannot see Woods inactive because we did not keep excess LBs (Woods is #4 outside if Vrabel is outside, #3 if he is inside)
I think Andrews will be returning kicks.
I dont think its a corner, because we have 4.
My guess is Don Davis.

PS. Dont we need 8 inactives? I'd be VERY surprised if Cassell is designated 3rd QB, because if he has to replace Brady for ONE PLAY before the 4th quarter, Brady is out of the game. (Or am I misunderstanding the rule?)

Why would he have done 'preseason stuff' while the team was preparing for the game?
He was never 'gone', he was on the ps.

Lets understand something here.
The reason Jonathon Smith was signed to the 53, and Bam put on the ps, was that BB thought Smith had/has a shot here, probably on ps, but it was very unlikely to sign him to the ps (he would have stayed in Buffalo). He had to claim him off waivers to get him a tryout. Bam was here, I am certain BB explained the situation to him. He wasnt going to sign on anyone elses ps, and wasnt subject to a waiver claim.

In other words, he wanted both at practice this week, and this was PROCEDURALLY the way to make it happen.

NEVER was this a cut Bam because Smith is better, then, oops, we were wrong. Bam was never realy exposed to leaving, and there was almost zero chance he wasnt back on the 53 this week, and even less chance Smith was going to be on the 53 and active for game 1.

Smith either impressed as hoped and will be on the ps, or showed nothing this week and wont be returning.

he was on the PS until yesterday... not expected to play ... doubt he had
a role in the game plan .... probably played scout team in practice.
In a pinch he could fill in but if there are other healthy WRs that executed
the game plan .. I would expect they would be activated first.

Are you always sarcastic with your responses when you think
someone is in error?

By the way , why are you even reading this thread ... it was suppose to be
height of boredom to you.

JR4,

PS is a designation. I find it VERY, VERY, VERY hard to believe that on Tuesday BB said, Childress is a practice squad only player dont give him the gameplan, then by Friday said oops, he is now on the 53, should have given him the game plan.

In reality there was probably a 95% chance that Bam going on the 53 all along, and BB surely wouldnt have him ignorant to the game plan, just because most of the time practice squad players dont get activated.

I GUARANTEE Childress was working with the offense and gameplan all week.

Easy picks: Chad Jackson, Nick Kaczur, Gene Mruczkowski, LeKevin Smith
Emergency QB: Matt Cassel
Difficult picks: Tedy Bruschi v. Alexander (give Tedy at least another week to heal and have Alexander next in line behind Davis if Seau and Vrabel get into trouble), Marquise Hill v. Jonathan Sullivan (Hill needs to showcase his stuff, but Sully has been the guy practicing all preseason), Thomas v. Mills (Thomas is only a few days removed from a red jersey, I lean towards him since Mills working out of the backfield and slot offers more options at the moment).

That makes my inactive guess: Jackson, Kaczur, Mruczkowski, Smith, Bruschi, Hill, Thomas; E-QB Cassel.

Andrews, Woods, Evans are all STs, as are Sanders, Gay, and Scott (who also play in nickel and dime situations). Britt is the third tackle. Evans also took practice reps at TE if memory serves.

well if this is what they were thinking all along then you are right.
I don't. I think they fully expected J.Smith to be active but soemthing
didn't work out.
