Linebackers can wear 40s if the 50s and 90s are all taken.

Ah so 40's are the tertiary numbers for linebackers!

What numbers do WR's get if 10-19 and 80-89 are all taken?

Single digits, I believe. Victor Cruz wore #3 in the preseason in 2010.

Stanback wore a single digit number at WR against Indi for the Patriots too but the next game he had #15 so I always thought it was because he was signed as a QB, but that makes sense now if it's because of no free numbers.

The chance of a regular season roster having used all the numbers is unlikely!

10/11/12 - QB
13/14 - P/K
80/81/82 - TE
83/84/85/86/87 - WR

Going by the usual number at each position using those numbers, there would still be 7 #s left over!

That would be impressive if they filled 20 :)

I am aware we are talking about preseason! But preseason is preseason!

Randy moss with the #6 during a '07 preseason camp. (IIRC at first he was going to wear #11, then switched to #81.)

Brandon Meriweather wearing #38 during a rookie minicamp.

Sergio Brown still with the #38 during the preseason game against Tampa.

I'm sure we'll see some # changes even before the start of the TC.

If a players moves position after 1 year they can keep the number, so if a team has QBs 10,11,12, P 13, K 14, WR 15,16, 17 is retired, 18 is a RB that used to be a WR, 19 is retired, 80, 81, 82 are TE, 83 is retired, 84, 85 are WR, 86 and 87 are WRs turned DBs, 88 is a WR and 89 is retired you have 5 WRs and no 10-19 or 80-89 left, what if you want to carry 6 or 7 WRs?

That doesn't happen.

Richard Medlin set the standard for 37.

I remember when I thought he would make the 53...

Hopefully my streak of UDFA RBs not making the roster even though I predicted them to will end this year.

2010: Paschall
2011: Medlin
2012: Bolden?

I figured that might be the case but I didn't look it up, was 36 taken last year?

James Sanders had it until he was cut in TC and then Polite had it when he signed!

You can change a players number! And 3 players who have changed position, interesting scouting! ;)

Brown changed numbers after Meriweather was cut! #31 was available to him at the start of TC!

Don't forget Molden in the preseason!

Didn't realise he was with the team in TC! Thought he was picked up after the TC cuts!

My bad :)

If Waters were to retire, I wouldn't mind Hightower wearing 54.
