I mean c'mon people. Don't we have more important things to waste time and resources on?

Liberal Group Threatens Lawsuit Against McDonald's If It Doesn't Stop Giving Toys to Children

    By Nicholas Ballasy, Video Reporter

(CNSNews.com) -- The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a liberal consumer advocacy organization, has announced it will sue McDonald’s unless the fast-food franchise stops using toys to market its “Happy Meals” to children.

“This morning, CSPI notified McDonald’s that we will file a lawsuit against the company unless it stops using toys to beguile young children,” said Executive Director Michael F. Jacobson, Ph.D., at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

“We contend that tempting kids with toys is unfair and deceptive both to kids who don’t understand the concept of advertising and to their parents who have to put up with their nagging children,” he said.

So now 6 year olds, belted into car seats, are forcing parents to buy them Happy Meals. Oh, and I think it's Bush's fault!

When it doubt, just blame BOOOSH!

Just more of the left wing nanny state taking over. Why are you complaining? All they want is to control every aspect of your life! They're know what's good for you and your children more than you do!

I almost took the word Liberal out from the articles headline, cuz I didn't want this to be exclusive to one side. I think there are elements of all ideologies that want to restrict individual choice, or impose a type of nannyism that they feel is justified. In this case, I find it propostrous to state that kids force their parents to take them to McDonald's, on top of their notion that McDonald's is to blame. It's flat stupid.

Liberalism is the place people go where they have crazy, completely out-of-the-mainstream ideas and need support. Things like giving condoms to 1st graders, gay marriage or illegalizing Happy Meals. The small minority of the population that supports the crazy idea vote as a bloc, and of course the rest of us with common sense do not vote as a bloc.

That's why if you itemize the platforms of liberalism, they lose virtually every category down the list. But their agenda advances because of all the "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" vote trading.

...they have to blame something, better to blame the toys than the parents for giving in to the kids

You guys do realize that I could sue Bob Kraft, Terry Francona and Katey Perry, blaming them equally for the fact that the moon is made of green cheese and that if the lawsuit application was filled out properly it would have to be filed, right? Furthermore, that a properly filed lawsuit still isn't necessarily entitled to any more attention than what it takes for a judge to glance over the paperwork and pull out his 'rejected' stamp?

I'll tell you what. If I hit the Powerball tonight I'll sue Realworld for starting frivolous threads just as an object lesson. Y'all can follow along as it gets rejected out of hand.

Liberals Hate Successful Corp's, McDonalds is one of those companys that started in somebodys garage and is now a world wide empire, Liberal Socialist Communists hate that because it represents FREEDOM.

Do they give these toys out in other country's, will the American Liberal Loon try to prevent the "giving of toys" in Europe or Japan.

    2 Quarter Pounders
2 French Fries (lots of grease and salt
    Take Out
Bring Home and enjoy with large frosted mug of beer.

If some pasty faced do-gooding smelly, whiney, bug eyed, moonbat liberal bastard creep trys to take that away from me I'll find out where they live and keep putting pictures of Sarah Palin on their front door, in their yard and all over their cars for the rest of my life.

I LOVE MCDONALDS I LOVE MONSODIUM GLUTOMATE I WOULD EAT A PIECE OF SH!T IT IT WAS COOKED RIGHT

What's your point then? That there should be no people who decide to file silly lawsuits? or that it should be a crime to file an unacceptable lawsuit at all?

I just went to Quincy traffic court. In an hour the judge whipped through at least 20 cases of people contesting tickets. How much court time do you figure that judge would give this case of yours?

The point is that there is an advocacy group out there, lead by lawyers and people with PHD's, that actually believe McDonald's is to blame when kids eat a happy meal. I know though, I posted something, so you feel compelled to respond negatively. You're trying to "win" I think.

Liberals blame McDonalds in the same manner they "Blame Guns"

This is how a liberal thinks:
Daddy wakes up and says "I think I'll take the kids to McDonalds today and get them a free toy and some greasy fries"
The Liberal blames McDonalds, not daddy.

This is how the liberal thinks with the gun:
The gun jumps out of the closet and up onto Daddy's bed and whispers in Daddy's ear "lets go out today and kill somebody"
The Liberal blames The Gun, not daddy.

TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILY TO MACDONALDS TODAY "FREE TOYS" YUM YUM

I'll never understand what it is about you neo cons who automatically throw down the stalker card every time someone points out that your ideas are stupid. I know you don't want to be associated with wolf pack since you're such a moderate and all:rolleyes:, so maybe you shouldn't copy his tactics quite so much.

Don't be ridiculous. I only throw out the "stalker" card against the one person who really does stalk me, DarrylS.

Anyway... your point about suing Bob Kraft for the moon being made out of cheese is a completely moronic analogy beyond belief. This movement to ban happy meals is not some single crazy individual who will be dismissed by a judge in 10 seconds. As RW noted, these are organized activists with lawyers and PHD's. They are proposing - and in some California counties actually advancing - legislation to do precisely what they want.

Real World is, among others, being very critical of the people trying to outlaw Happy Meals. As your posts show, you have nothing but hatred and venom for Real World, while you haven't uttered a single word of criticism for the people actually trying to do the banning. So that speaks volumes as to your take on the issue, huh?

This is a much bigger systemic problem than Happy Meals.. the reality is that many poor families and many middle income families, can eat at McDonalds or BK, cheaper than they can by buying and cooking stuff at home,a nd there are no dishes to clean up... to eat right, is usually more expensive.

The toys are a come on to entice children to eat really crappy food... the easy answer is for parents not to allow children to be afforded of this type of high fat, poor nutritional value food.. have to be an organized saint to never frequent this type of fast food.. or any fast food.

Reminds me of the subliminal messaging that Coke used to do in the 50's and 60's, this is similar as kids are given the message of McD's is good and fun, and parents may want them to stay away from them when young.. but something kicks in when they get older.

When my grandson was small, when we travelled we might stop at a roadside rest.. not much choice while on the road, the usual events were to buy a happy meal.. he would disregard the food and play with the toy. We avoided them just about all of the time, but sometimes stuff happened.

..if it is made in a plant don't eat it, if it comes from a plant eat it.
    ..white bread makes you dead.
..if food comes out of a window, it is not food.

McDonalds need to be a more responsible corporate citizen... not sure that a lawsuit is the answer, some might call it conscience.. not bottom line.

So what you're saying then is that we can really expect to see Happy Meals banned then? 'Cause I have real trouble buying that. But hey I have standards, if the day that Happy Meals become illegal ever arrives I'll admit I was wrong.

Seems to me that this is just another excuse for a neo con like yourself to paint the other side with the widest brush he can find by way of a Google search while at the same time sleasily inserting the 'I almost took out the liberal..." line in the same way you're sleasily claiming to only use the stalker card on Daryl.

Banned nationwide? Probably not. Banned in self righteous liberal enclaves like certain Californian communities where people like you try to tell all the rest of us how to live? Well, yeah, I expect such a thing is just around the corner. So I look forward to you eating crow.
And it seems to me that, once again, you have done nothing but show hatred, venom and disdain for those of us criticizing the ban whilst not uttering a single negative word about those advancing the ban. Guess that shows where you fall on this issue, huh?
