Gronk going under 4TH TIME

My concern right now is not that he won't start early in the regular season...my concern is that he might do some offseason activity after this surgery between June and August that may delay his recovery even longer and possibly spawn on that 5th operation.

Dear Gronk ...Please stay away from excessive physical activity such as wild partying at least until september

Broken forearm, surgery, done. That's the norm.
Not for plate insertion fractures, it isn't. I'm assuming you knew there was a plate inserted, or perhaps you didn't. But, you should have.

not if the surgery requires a plate be installed during healing. Then the norm is to remove the plate at some point.

Thus the norm for a break, plate install, re-break, plate reinstall, heal, plate un-install

removing infections adds more procedures, whether the guy is dancing or not.

This is just in time to stick the plate in Edelman's foot.

Doubt it.

As already stated, he needed a 4th surgery anyway to take the plate out/replace it (did he really break his arm so badly he needed a plate in the first place though?!), once that out it's the final stage of rehab and he will be back long before week 1 of the season (if it's infection free).

I think the plate was put in because they hoped it would help him be ready for the playoffs. If they just had decided to not even bother with him for the playoffs they probably could have let it heal normally.

It's amazing how convoluted this has become...all because of a bizarre play on an extra point.

There seem to be a lot of Orthopedic Surgeons and infection specialists out here. Thank goodness that they are nearly universally assuring us that Gronkowski will be good to go at the beginning of the season. I know that puts my mind at ease.

Since I'll just admit that I have no idea what any of this means, I'll only say that I hope he is OK by September and will cautiously add that Gronkowski sure seems to get injured more often than, as a fan, I'd hope he would.

I guess the fact this is the surgery where the plate that has been in his arm for four months is being taken out is lost.

Well I wouldn't expect anything less from the doom and gloom crowd

Except you're conveniently forgetting to include the part where the plate is being swapped out and replaced.....

The plate isn't being 'taken out,' unless you're goingt to claim that it's being taken out only to re-install a new one.

"Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald reports that Gronkowski is going to need a fourth operation to replace the plate that secures the broken bone in his forearm."

infections and bone can be a nasty combo. Guy at work fell down in a drainage ditch whilst jogging when he was overseas. Got a slight cut. Turned into a raging infection and doctors somehow scraped it "into the bone" (US doctors). He ended up losing his leg.

Not saying that's going to happen here, but I"m hoping he comes back 100%, whenever that is.

Knew this would end up happening. Guy can't catch a break...but as long as there is no infection...were will be all good...still infection...not good

My image of the Gronk is shattered. Glasskowski.
Ludicrous - Simply Ludicrous. Before he broke his arm in game 11 Gronkowski had played in 35 games in a row over 3 years.(38 if you include the playoffs. He's only missed 9 games total over those 3 years. (4 games his rookie year and 5 games last year)

There is a clique of whining fans that sometimes embarrass me with their constant wringing of their hands at every friggin' negative story. Like the world is going to end, and the Pats are going to hell in a hand basket

And for the record the Pats could lose BOTH Gronk and Hernandez, and STILL have the best TE's in the division.

I guarantee that this contingent of p u s s y whiners hasn't accomplished a damn thing in their lives and never will. Just crybaby whiners that have turned this forum into a joke and exposed them for the losers they are.

They are just projecting their own failures here. Its the same idiots over and over. They relish all of the negative attention they get here because they get none in the real world. And that is all it is...lets face it. Attention starved..

Of course if you tell them this they will just say you are being a blinded homer and are drinking the KoolAid. My question to that is why would anyone who is as blind Kool Aid drinker bother to post here? People who post here are passionate about the team. They arent going to come here to just rah rah everything the pats do. Its just a lazy pathetic comeback attempt to deflect away from their stupidity.

Must be a pretty pathetic existence if you are spending time on a forum dedicated to a team you dont have any respect for.

Can you say loser?

Played in all 17 games his rookie year (16 regular season and 1 playoff game)

Good idea. Maybe the team could save on ammo and use the same bullet on Gronk and Josh Boyce (fractured pinky toe, so clearly his career is over, even before it begins.)
