Peterson is coming of a comeback/mvp season, Gronk missed the playoffs.

Probably because Gronk didn't do much last year compared to AP, who had a monster year. There could be Patriot-fatigue going on, I wouldn't read a whole lot more into it.

It would have been closer a year ago. Peterson is just too popular right now.

It's as simple as this: he's a Patriot. When you travel outside NE, you quickly learn how universally detested our team is.

I think its because he takes his shirt off everywhere....since self-esteem isn't an issue with him, they probably figured to give it to the guy who needed it more

As good as Gronk was last year, AP was way better. That vote makes sense to me.

I am a complete Pats homer and even I voted for Peterson. No offense to Gronk, but coming back from his ACL surgery and getting that close to the All Time Rushing Record? Yeah, the vote was right.

    No Jersey Selected

Good. Not to get political, but have you seen who they have elected to Congress? :)

Oh, if you do not believe "their" judgement is suspect: Hatred of the Patriots means they can avoid the curse (!? - or is it ?!). :)

At least he lost to a great player! I'd rather he lose to AP than someone like Eli...

BB knows he can't lose Gronk to the Madden curse this year, so he personally called everyone who voted and left a threatening voicemail so they'd choose AP.

Or you can believe the whole MVP/Near record breaking season NONSENSE that everyone is claiming

Adrian Peterson is one of the greatest RBs to ever carry the ball. The guy is a combination of speed, agility, explosion, and power that you just do not see.

Not going to lie, I voted against Gronk simply because I want nothing to do with the Madden curse. Call me crazy, but I just didn't want it anywhere near the Patriots.

The best RB in the game after a huge injury and a monster season.... or a TE that can't play a full season and has yet to play in a big game. No brainer.

Who knows? AP had a season that was a few yards short of historic. Gronk was injured and out of the public eye at a crucial time. So, I don't think we Pats fans can take this one personally.

If I were advising Gronkowski on maximizing his marketing potential, I'd probably suggest he tone down some of the off-field stuff, but he's a big boy and can decide those things for himself. What's more, I really don't care what he does in his spare time if he's catching passes and blocking rushers when he has to.

AP deserves it for sure. He does have three incomplete seasons himself you know. And Gronk has a couple big games under his belt.
