Who are those Pop Warner kids running next to the big guy?

Yeah...Justin Jones has a bit of size to him......6'8 TE out of Eastern Carolina ....

Jones looks bigger than Gronk ... and that sounds funny :)

That's because he is bigger than Gronk. He won't stick though, guy is molasses slow.

From the Pats photo gallery, this is one sorry looking "sprint drill"!:

Brady does look like he's in excellent shape. I bet he has another big season.

Once Brady beats him in the sprints, he's history!

1.72 10 yard split on his 40.

6.88 three cone - that is .02 slower than Dri Archer. Faster than Ryan Shazier by .03 & KPL by .04.
9'05" broad jump,
37" vert - would have been 2nd among TEs at the combine.

So it isn't like he's some unathletic guy who's just big, he has a legitimate shot at being a red zone target.

Well hold up. Maybe marqui thinks Archer, Shazier, and Pierre-Louis are slower than molasses.

But here is a look at some of the other TE's 3 Cone

Ebron- 7.49
Amaro- 7.42
ASJ- 6.97 (junior pro day)
CJF- 7.57
Lynch- 7.38
Gillmore- 7.42

Gronk's 10 yard split was 1.58

No, marqui thinks all those number are irrelevant if he can't move well in games. He doesn't create any separation on game tape.

The bits I've seen of him, despite not being blessed with straight line speed, he found himself wide open a lot.

Could have used him in the last Superbowl

Man I couldn't understand that video until they mentioned who caught the ball lol!

What is up with them not kicking the extra point too?

Let him be molasses slow.. as long as he can catch with some reliability.

With a 4.9 40 yard time, I have to insist that that's good enough for first downs and in the red zone (being almost as fun as being in the Dangah Zone) ;)

With that height, defenders will have to take him somewhat seriously..

Tight ends create separation by using their bodies, like blocking out in bball. Watch some Ben Coates video.

Because straight line speed has little relevance in comparison with explosiveness. How often do you ever run in a straight line for more than 5-10 yards?

He gets great separation.
