Grading decade of NFL drafts
Via Reiss
The Patriots end up 3rd on this list, although a couple of points:
1. It's a slideshow. **** slideshows.
2. There's not a lot of explanation in the rankings. It lists the number of Pro Bowlers and All Pros per team, but doesn't use that as the determining ranking.
3. List put together by Vinnie Iyer, who isn't one of my fav football analysts.
4. I think the Pats were given bonus points for the trades using picks such as Moss, which is listed on the page. But again, without any explanation of rankings, no clue how much that matters.
I think the takeaway is that we've done pretty good over the past 10 years relative to the league. We may not be the best like some of the homers believe, but we're hardly the worst as many of the haters love to point out. People lose sight of that because they expect BB to hit on 100% of his draft picks, but nobody does.
GB finished first on this list, and they're one of the best in the league, but they also took Brian Brohm with a 2nd and he couldn't end up beating out 7th rounder Matt Flynn. But again, compared to the rest of the league, they've done a pretty good job.
