He's always must reading. How to Stop North Korea's Weapons Proliferation - WSJ.com

His 2006 book needs a broader reading public.

We've got 35,000 guys in harm's way, acting as a trip wire, to ensure further American involvement in the horrible event of a North Korean attack.

Important historical fact: the Korean War, the "forgotten war," is not officially over. Chang explains why.

My feeling is that it's not the UN or US politics that restricting our options, it's South Korea and Japan, who would most likey bear the brunt of a North Korean attack. My guess is they are hoping Kim Jong-il dies soon and that his son his a little better.

I agree, Patters, we should pull out. Doug Bandow has written intelligently on this. After all, South Korea's 600,000-man army is the sixth largest in the world. Their economy is many, many times larger. And their population is significantly larger, too.

The surest way to guarantee all out civil war is to pull out U.S. troops from South Korea. We are the only thing standing in the way of a North attack on the South. The ONLY thing.

Jimmy Carter wanted to pull out of South Korea. 'nuff said.
