Very nice read. Thanks for the link! love the flexibility and added dimension all the Pats RBs provide, but gotta think Ridley will be the key (along with soem well-times passes to Woodhead). I believe out-rushed Foster last time, and would love if it happened again.

Has nothing to do with Ridley who was, in fact, here last year, and everything to do with the play calling which is much more balanced now.

IMO the article is kind of self-contradictory and doesn't add up. They claim that the past pass-heavy, imbalanced offense was largely a matter of philosophy, not personnel. But then how do you explain them spending a #1 pick on Laurence Maroney? And is Ridley the lynchpin, or just the guy who was in the right place at the right time?

I really believe that Lo-Mo was the victim of poor schemes and stunted development/confidence due to it.

Hard to believe that a new RB was all that's needed. At the very least some scheme change was necessary.

Maroney wasn't used because he wasn't consistent. Ridley moves the chains and breaks big runs. Maroney didn't do the first, Ben Jarvis didn't do the second.

You can scheme yourself to death but it won't turn a hesitant running back into a force.

He wasn't terrible early on. IMHO he was fine in 07-08, but fell apart in 09 when the passing game resurged

The guys problem was he danced around too much, while BJGE was the complete opposite, nowhere but straight forward. I agree that Ridley has fitted himself well in between those running styles.
