If the Pats drafted Edelman and didn't even explore the WildPat options to the extent of having it available, especially after seeing the success Miami had, then shame on them.

Disrupt Brady's timing? Well, the various 3 & outs, and other stalled drives sure aren't helping his timing. Not to mention, sometimes seeing how a defense is playing from the sidelines for a play or 2, or being able to check in with an OC to look at a couple snapshots of the D sure would be helpful. It would be like a productive TO just for Brady.

If Brady does not get better this is going to be along season. Atleast give him until the bye week. The wildcat is not the answer for the Patriots at this point.

What success has Miami had, honestly... It was Brady's lost season that even got them to the playoffs and once there they were mercilessly one and done.

The problem with this thread is you have to actually decide what the problem is before developing a solution. Here are the two themes:

Brady sucks because he's not hitting open receivers, the receivers are dropping passes, and he's not on the same page.

The play calling sucks and we need to be more creative and exotic.

By definition the "raison d' etre'" of play calling and game planning is to put players in a position to make plays. If the QB is not hitting open receivers, how is that the fault of the play calling?

By definition, NFL offenses are complex and require hours of practice. If the players can't do something they have spent hours working; how exactly is something new and exotic going to be executed to perfection? Players "not on the same page" doesn't get solved with added complexity.

Why the "wildcat"? Why not the "wishbone", "run 'n shoot", and the "dive play"? Maybe it's time for the lateral play and a version of the "music city miracle"? Maybe we should do the "statue of liberty" play 8-10 times per game.

On the other hand, maybe Brady can be a develop into a hell of an option QB over the bye.
