She was great. Acerbic, insightful, down to earth, populist .

Here are a few quotes, both insightful and amusing, from:

    http://womenshistory.about.com/od/quotes/a/molly_ivins.htm

“As they say around the [Texas] Legislature, if you can't drink their whiskey, screw their women, take their money, and vote against 'em anyway, you don't belong in office.”

"The first rule of holes: when you're in one, stop digging."

[On George W. Bush (and George H. W. Bush)] "If you think his daddy had trouble with "the vision thing," wait till you meet this one."

"If he gets even more sedate, we will have to water him twice a week." [Molly Ivins about then-President Ronald Reagan]

"It is possible to read the history of this country as one long struggle to extend the liberties established in our Constitution to everyone in America."

from her last column, January 11, 2007: "We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war. Raise hell. Think of something to make the ridiculous look ridiculous. Make our troops know we're for them and trying to get them out of there."

I didnt agree with her politically but 62 is too young to die. A shame really.

I wish just once Hollywood would treat cancer like they do AIDS and all their other causes.

I was thinking the same thing. :D

Honestly, didn't really know of her, but it is a shame to see some one pass so young. My neighbor died last year and he was 62. Very, very sad deal.

She was right about GW but she has no business spewing that German slop about Pat.

I thin people need to lay off Pat Buchanan. Most people don't know this because he doesn't talk about it, but his grandfather on his mother's side died at Aushwitz.

He fell out of a guard tower.

But seriously, I actually like Pat. He's an old fashioned fiscal conservative that doesn't care much for imperialism. Too bad his kind has been drummed out of the party by the evangelical moonbats.
