Can never understand the fascination and fanaticism associated with the black and white ball....

Think chess and it makes more sense ... positional play, positional advantages, moving from strength, defending your king ... it's all there only in sport form.

The problem with it is it's a few seconds of action and minutes of mind numbing back and forth kicking...great game but for our ADHDesque country it's too slow paced.

Used to be that way ... comparing soccer today to soccer 20+ years ago and there's way more attacking going on. Seriously ... the problem with selling soccer to an American audience is hard without rule changes. FIFA changing a rule happens less than the Vatican changing their rules.

If there was an offsides line like in hockey Americans would love it way more ... but there is no offsides line ... the line is always moving thus the low scores and strategy constantly being the constant. I love soccer but compared to the NFL it's no contest for me ... NFL all day long.
