Michael Eisen, of Giants.com, reports the New York Giants have released CB Will Peterson.

The Giants have pretty good depth a the CB postion so this move looked like it was going to happen. As to where Peterson will go

alright thats enough. Peterson is a good player..could be a nice #2 or #3 for us but hes had series of back injuries and hes only 27 so thats not bad but he may retire because the back/spin..he failed another physical

The Giants released him only because they feel he will never fully recover from his back problems. He was actually a good corner before all of this, but I doubt he can regain that with an injury this substantial. Don't be surprised if he's going to call it a career.

The story seems to be his injuries have curtailed what looked like a promising career. If the guy recovers from his injury maybe. But that may never happen. Who knows.
