Thats so sad to hear! He was such a strong player and I'm sure he worked hard to come back, it's too bad he's had this setback. I'd agree he'll probably hang them up after this. :(
 
At the point in the season that the Giants picked him up, I don't think he expected his phone to ring and wasn't really prepared to step in, without any pre-season or exhibition games and compete at a pro-level

I don't doubt he was ready earlier in the season, just that he was realistic

He never counted on the Giants being so desparate that they'd consider bringing back a 40-something player as well as him.
