Unless you play a very limited offense (Hello Jets and Bills) it is important for us to have him healthy. Especially in the playoffs against mobile qbs when we play more contain than pressure.
Hope he gets enough time off against Jets and Bills to not additionally worsen his hamstring situation.
It's all about VORP. Brady, Gronk & Revis have ridiculous value over whoever else would be in their place. Arrington's value over Ryan or Dennard in the slot is substantial, but it's a fraction of what Gronk over Hooman is or Brady over Garap or Revis over any other CB.
You can withstand a few injuries where you lose some value (Mayo, for instance) - or maybe they pile up to a breaking point (2013). But as long as the latter doesn't happen, but as we saw in the championship years, we were able to weather losing some very good players as long as enough of our key guys were healthy.
Which is actually a compelling case to rest him, not play him.
If Kyle's VORP over the DBs beneath him is substantial, but little more than a blip compared to the truly elite guys above him, what better time to sit him down? Against the Jets or against a good or even elite passing offense? If I can get a 100% playoff Arrington at the expense of an 80% Arrington this week, to me that's a no-brainer.
Didn't they have perfect attendance yesterday?
Not sure. But another perfect attendance today:

Just checked, it's been perfect all week, but they have a dozen guys who are limited. Not sure which is more meaningful.
