    http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/01/31/germany.cia/index.html

It'll be interesting to see this play out. Can you imagine the prospect of 13 CIA agents being held, questioned, and prosecuted by the German government? Obviously the US would never extradite them, but would other EU countries take them into custody if they entered? Glad to see Germany's not buckling under US pressure - the law is the law, and kidnapping is kidnapping whether you work for the CIA or not.

This is the result of throwing the geneva convention out the window.

    GOOD JOB GEORGE!
Way to protect the soldiers, McCain!

I hope they don't send our young men and women into Iran...PLEASE.

Like this is the first administration to kidnap and abuse someone. Wasn't the first time, and sadly, certainly won't be the last. It's funny how everyone is up in arms now. Where we all the pundits during the Cold War? When Reagan was overthowing & installing evil men across the land, Carter was training and supplying the muj, and Kennedy was torching farms in Cuba, why weren't people pissed? Covert crap like this has been a staple of american foreign policy for quite some time. You could almost say it's as american as apple pie. :D

Oh, I agree. All I like to point out is how people act like this is something new, and that bad boy George is the first guy to ever do it. Even Germany. How many times do you think they brutalized, kidnapped, even murdered fools in conjunctin with the CIA during the Cold War? Obviously I'm alleging here, but seriously, don't you think they did it without repudiation back then? I do. Not that it's justification of course.

Bay of Pigs under Kennedy: total complete utter fiasco. Lost hundreds of very good people, mostly Cubans, in a plan as stupidly planned and poorly executed as could possibly be done. If there ever was an open invitation for the world to come back and say, "Well, those Americans sure aren't too smart," this was it. We never hear about that, but we're always hearing about "Nixon's bombing of Cambodia", "Nixon's war in Vietnam", "Bush's war in Iraq." The selective memory of the mainline media is disgusting. As partisan as anything in the nation.

Not what I was saying at all.....There at least was a set of rules that was in place that hadn't been pissed on by the president. There WAS a set of rules. GWB has publicly said that the rules dont apply to him.

There was a set of rules in place? Really, when? What were they?

That's right..!! The law is the law..!! Well, unless you're a pothead friend of Pujo's and you leave 30 suspicious packages across the city of Boston... then the law isn't really the law, it's only more of a guideline to be discarded at whim...

So that only applies to the Bush Administration, right?

Which law are you talking about again? I can't find any felony statutes my friends violated. Maybe the law is different from what you think it is? Oh yeah, we're getting specific, which isn't your strong point.

And apparently paying attention isn't yours. I already stated the law they broke and the maximum possible penalty. I never said that law was a federal statute but, last time I checked, you could get in trouble with local law enforcement as much as with the feds.

If they had a brain in their heads, they would be polite and contrite - which explains why they are acting like grinning jackasses all day. And it also explains why you are such good friends with them. Now go smoke another joint in your loser friend's one room apartment. You can tell him all about me, and what a horrible person I am to do such silly things as, you know... hold down a steady job, live in a nice house, have responsibilities, pay taxes, obey the law, etc, etc...
