Wes, I couldn't agree more (there's a first time for everything!). It is an inconsistency that bothers me in the Republican party, refusal to bail out individuals but willingness to bail out corporations. Now I understand the thinking is that saving the corporation saves all the employees jobs/healthcare/etc, but to me I think you let the market run its course. You know why nobody is buying Pontiacs? Because Pontiacs suck, that's why.

Let GM die. They are now a horrible company. Their cars and trucks blow. I have a '71 Camaro RS (350 holly 4-barrel gas pig), but that has nothing to do with today's GM. GOODBYE, GM!

If you wanna cry about handouts to the poor, you can't support this bullsh1t! I agree, either get you sh1t together on your own dollar or say goodbye...lost jobs and all!

I have never complained about handouts to the poor. Mainly because I am aware of the massive handouts to the rich that aren't listed in the budget. Handouts also include bailouts, tax breaks and free access to natural resources that corporate pigs enjoy. When those handouts stop, then I can start biching about welfare mothers, students and handicapped people.

Wista, I wasn't directing that comment about crying to you...I know you better than that!;) And we're in complete agreement.

I didn't take it like that. I was just making a statement as opposed to responding to your post.

I can see why they bailed out (loaned) money to the financial institutions, even if I disagree, but to bail out a corporation is madness. The financial institutions failing would have a much more negative effect on the population as a whole, than would some company that makes cars. A company should sink, or swim, on it's own merrits.
