You might speak in jest, but I did know two oxygen thieves who were Hamas supporters and proudly said so on their MySpace page (this was circa 2006). They were white guys by the way.

Code Pink is not Hamas.. know it is easy to connect those dots for folks who choose not to be informed, but they do not connect.

For many this is difficult, criticism of Israel is not anti semitic, telling them to stop their heavy handed ways is not supporting Hamas, killing of women and children is not justice...

I think the "lost to the Jordanians" bit refers to the unsuccessful coup against King Hussein - so yeah, sucks to not take over Jordan 40 years ago.

The really dirty secret is that Palestinians and Israelis are integrally connected economically. Again, the "wedge" question comes to mind. Make it easier for the West Bank than for Gaza, and put up a big neon sign saying "absent a crackdown you can have a somewhat normal life. Absent militant action, you get a crackdown. PA = somewhat normal life. Hamas = misery/death."

NO work for Gazans, because so much work depends on getting into Israel in so many cases. The West Bank can have something like a functioning economy (not the greatest place to live, but consider the alternative.)

I wonder if there were Fatah types who remember being driven out of Gaza, and who were against the marriage of convenience earlier this year, who are quietly saying to one another "serves them right."

Been thinking end-game again. Israel did not like Fatah/Hamas declaring themselves a state earlier this year... essentially just going there without them. It's still another matter in the background: Driving the wedge.

It would be much more front and center if Hamas were not so accommodating in lobbing their 4th-of-July-Jumbo-Assortment class rockets over the border.

Israel has been fighting Islamic terrorists for the last 50 years. They are our allies. Hamas rejoiced in the streets and burned our flags. You know better than that.

When they chant 'Death to America' i will never support them.
