Talking about the differences between this year and last:
Definitely worth reading.
Nothing but great news in there.
I have really big expectations of The Hit Stick this year. He and Mayo are, obivously, a huge part of "younger and faster on defense" and are an absolute key, along with Wheatley and signing Wilfork long term, to taking our defense to a SB level for the next 5+ years.
Very good article. BM is one of the players I'll be watching closely this year on the defensive side of the ball. He was making a lot of good pops last year toward the end of the season (heh, the Ted Ginn one came to mind immediately) and was in the position to make that interception in the Super Bowl. Hopefully this year, he gels in our system and becomes one of the better safetys in the NFL. Just the fact that he's picking the brain of Ed Reed puts a smile on my face.
I dunno, here's what The Dookfish had to say...
"On the other hand, Meriweather at FS continues to disappoint. On the Brady to Moss to Brady bomb to Jabar (Remember the TD on this call last year!), Jabar dropped the ball this time. More to the point, Meriweather was in position to break up the pass and failed to make a play on the ball. His inability to track the ball in the air, more than his stone hands, is a fatal flaw to FS play in the NFL. I apologize for the harsh review and am no doubt overreacting to one play, but Ed Reed deflects that ball. Ball skills are essential and I have yet to observe same in Mr. Meriweather."
The Dookfish doesn't do paragraphs
I little hard on the fish.
Some people do put A LOT of emphasis on int's. Samuel is glad that happened.
(Super Bowls excluded, ofcourse)
I bolded a key part of that paragraph.
Eh, I'll put my trust in Gasper before I trust "the Dookfish".
Gasper does paragraphs?
The gall of a second-year player to not be as good as Ed Reed!!! How dare he?!?
All kidding aside you folks who haven't done so should to go over to the Training Camp Forum and read the Dookfish's excellent TC observations. Fun and informative.
i'd figure Meriweather would contribute this year and more to come. I hope MAYO does somethin this year too
