God i hope so.

I love Gaffney. It would be a real bummer if he left.

Like Jabars game alot, he's solid tough, good hands and blocks well.
Let's keep him a Patriot!
Still wouldn't mind a porter or a booker though if we lose Stalworth.

I mentioned Porter a week or so ago, I like him if his personality checks out. He had good numbers last year considering . . .

Worst case :

Moss (I assume he's coming back)
Welker
Gaffney
Chad Jackson
draft choice

isn't bad.

good deal.gaffney is clutch. im desperate for any good news when it comes to the pats. i hope we get more good news the 29th.

I know that what REALLY matters
is the player he IS.

Still, in the case of Jabar, there is more to it than that.
Gaffney also REPRESENTS a concept that is critical to the New England Patriots.
He is the under-reported guy who merely performs.

The organization previously has recognized its
Bruschis ... its Troys ... yes, its Larry Izzos.

Like them, Jabar Gaffney puts out 100%
to accomplish all that he is asked to do.
We NEED such players!

This is potentially GREAT news! Love Jab.:D

Fantastic. Once the Moss formality is complete, our WRs will be set. Anyone think this means Kelly Washington is gone? I hope not, I like anyone who's willing to spend a full season playing ST when they could be a starting WR on a lot of other teams.

High value move. We know Gaffney could deliver more solid play given more snaps.

Of course, the big Kahuna is the Moss signing.

With Moss welker and any combination of Gaff/Stallworth/Jackson, we're set IMO.

This hand wringing over an all pro 4th/5th receiver is ridiculous in my mind.

I'd love to have a Washington or a Chad Jackson as a 5th who plays a lot of special teams, because that's what a 5th receiver does.

They sure don't catch a lot of footballs ever on any team, barring injuries.

Well then great news for us since Washington WANTS to stay here.

I have to say I am not a big believer in Jabar's value to his team. He's been Ray Crittenden for us the last two years.

I do think he has made some nice clutch catches and I appreciate him for that, but we are in deep trouble if he is our #2. He has little downfield ability. In 2006, Brady threw a lot of perfectly thrown long balls to Gaffney but he could never come down with them.

He is a heady kid who can get open in the intermediate game, but David Givens he ain't.

I'd really like to see some talent opposite Moss so that teams pay for double-teaming only one side of the field. We need a receiver who can chew up single coverage, and Gaffney ain't it. Granted, we may not see a guy who can come along and do better than Gaffney.

Some of the best news i've heard thus far this off-season. Now lets wrap up the Moss deal real fast than onward to the rest of free agency and the draft.

Hopefully true. It's funny after last off season, reciever still needs alot of attention this time around.

Great, I'm a big fan of Kareem Abdul Jabar Gaffney. Tough kid, clutch catches. In that regard, I DO consider him a David Givens-type of player. In 2006 he proved that he's a solid # 2 that could play like a # 1 when necessary.

worst case ...we have zero depth in this .if chad jackson remains status quo we would never play 4 wide and if he dings we have no depth.the line i see is

Moss
Welker
Gaffney/Kelly washington/C.J.Jones[we get a fast punt/kr guy]
Thomas/Watson/Brady
C.J

Really hoping Chad Jackson is over his injuries and has got the smarts
to be a significant factor. He does have the potential to replace
Stallworth. Maybe Moss can teach him somethings to improve his game.
Jabar ... will stay ... just a gut feeling.

I think this is the most important camp of Chad Jackson's young carrer.. He could be a camp casulity if he is not mentally ready to play this yr..
