I shouldn't reply to this thread, but here goes. I'm going to be killed because of this. Just note that my favorite teams are pretty much based on which teams I saw first in person.

Football
Beloved: Patriots
Hated: Colts, Steelers, Jets (in that order)

Hockey
Beloved: Rangers
Hated: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New Jersey

Baseball (here is where I die, though I'm not a big baseball guy)
Beloved: Yankees
Hated: Braves (because of their arrogant fans; don't hate the Red Sox for some reason)

College BB (don't watch this much anymore)
Beloved: UConn
Hated: Syracuse, West Virginia, UNC

Soccer (can't watch this anymore - no access)
Beloved: Borussia Dortmund (electric atmosphere at Westphalenstadion)
Hated: Bayern München, Bayer Leverkusen

I can't imagine rooting for a team outside of the NY area. That's just me though, 'cause I was born and raised in Brooklyn.

Since that is the case, then why are you here?

Off the top of my head I can think of only two reasons: (1) you're a masochist, or (2) you have an immature need to get under other people's skin, and it's just a matter of time before you are banned.

Here are mine:

Football (Pro): Beloved - Miami Dolphins (always and forever); Hated - New England Patriots, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and any team trying to go undefeated until that team loses

Football (College): Beloved - I don't really love any team; Hated - Alabama (because of Nick Satan), Notre Dame (I like to watch them fail, especially during Charlie Weis's tenure)

Baseball: Beloved - Boston Red Sox and anyone playing against the Yankees; Hated - New York Yankees

Basketball: Beloved - Sacramento Kings; Hated - LA Lakers and NY Knicks

Soccer: Beloved - USA! Hated - No team

Hockey: Beloved - San Jose Sharks; Hated - No particular hatred though I root against American East Coast teams.

Ditto to the comments directed to Rex Ryan's gut. Interesting that you root against all east coast teams in one sport, but love the Dolphins and Red Sox. Also interesting that one Boston area team is beloved, but another Boston area team is hated. Would like to hear how that came about.


Seriously, I am curious what would drive a person that hates a team to join a fan forum devoted to that same hated team, read the threads, and comment on them.
