Watching All Access, the round table feels that Stallworth may be the most talented reciever that Brady has ever had in the NFL. What do you think?

    My Jersey:

Quite possibly. He is faster than Branch, although not as good as a route runner. Aside from Stallworth and Branch, I really like the receiving group going into next season. Caldwell and Gaffney have experience with Brady which will benefit the offense as a whole. Also, the additions of Stallworth, Welker and Washington are going to provide good competition during training camp.

Funny thing is.... if he's so good why did the Saints trade him?

I think he has great potential and had one better than average season last season, but until he produces the jury is still out.

I don't think there's any doubt about it. His numbers are as good as Branch's and that's with Aaron Brooks as his QB most of his career. He's bigger, faster and almost as quick.

Now, that's talent. It doesn't mean he'll click with Brady and have the same feel for the Patriots' offense as Branch did. But pure talent ? Definitely.

The question was talent. And he has the most talent. Also equal production. Will the talent equal the production, we'll find that out.

Technically, Glenn was the most talented WR Brady's ever had on his team. Too bad he was such a nutjob.

LOL. He actually played one game in 2001 with Brady. He lit it up, too. Unfortunately, he couldn't get his act together after that.

You're right, I had my years wrong. I was thinking Glenn's last year was 2000 but you are right that he was on the SB team because we were debating whether he should get a ring or not.

Anyway, aside from Glenn I think Stallworth is the most talented . . . now we have to hope he's also the best.

I definitely agree there. He's a burner, good hands, quick and good route runner. We haven't had a WR with those qualities for Brady. Branch came the closest, but I agree he's not as talented as Stallworth.

Talent-wise I'll bite...however one of the biggest things TB loved about branch was the fact that they knew what the other was thinking and could make adjustments at the line just by looking at each other.....time will tell if donte can get there!

Mike Williams has talents albeit lazy

    Charles Rogers had talent

Look, the question was talent. Not who's the better player. Stallworth is the most talented WR since Glenn . . . now we'll see how good of a player he is.

    My Jersey:

    One Word: MONEY
    Two Words: Salary Cap

Besides the Saints had Joe Horn in place at the time.
They just didn't want to give him the big contract extension given the situation.
And now with rookie sensation, out of Hofstra, Marques Colston I doubt they are looking back.

Stallworth will be a stud for Brady though as long as he stays healthy. His speed is for real and he made some pretty big catches in the playoffs for the Eagles so we know he can be a big play threat.
Stallworth might be walking into the perfect situation for him. He could be the next free agent IRVING FRYAR. Yeah I invoked that name!

Stallworth has shown what he can do with far less than Brady throwing to him. Add the fact that Stallworth is playing for a huge pay day. I think I am going to enjoy this. :singing:

So, given that he has, for all intensive purposes, a one year contract. What numbers does he have to get for us to pull the trigger on the rest of the contract?

    800 yards?

    1000 yards?

    or..?

    Depends.

Is Chad Jackson a bust? Does Washington have any talent?

Will the Patriots use a high draft on a WR?

if he gets 1200 yards, and 8 TD's.....does any of that matter? Do you give that up if Jacksons not a bust?

He has all the talent, all the skills needed - no doubt. Now, will he have the dedication to learn this offense? Will he spend the inordinate amount of time it will take to click with Brady? Will he realize all his potential? Those are all the things he can control.....then, one more thing that he cannot control, can he stay healthy??

He has matured, he was a great teammate and talent to have around in Philly. His former teammates have said so and Andy Reid, in the middle of his troubles still found time to call him asking him to stay.

I say yes to all - this is going to be a terrific combination - mark my words.

Given that Branch maxed out at 998 for us, if Stallworth gets that in his first season that would be good enough for me.

Washington might be the Mike Vrabel of the WR corps. Stuck behind two very good players with a team that under utilized him. Lets face it, you are not going to get many balls thrown your way if you are on the same team with Chad Jackson-=-ehh I mean Chad Johnson (sorry couldn't resist), and T.J. Whoseyourmomma. It will be interesting to see what he can do.

Stallworth is the deep threat that will keep safeties out fo the box.

Agreed. It's doubtful anyone questions Donte's talent and he's exactly what we need. The tricky part was the off-field cloud hanging over his head which the Pats addressed beautifully in his tailor-made,prove-yourself contract.

If you take everything to be true then the biggest knock on stallworth is he is not good in routing routes .Now the question arises how bad?.

Is he as bad as bethel or better .if so how better.

He actually has had two better than average seasons. In 2005 he had 70 catches for 945 yards and 7 touchdowns.

He became expendable to the Sainst after the emergence of Colston and they needed to trade someone because they were desperate for LB's.

    He he he.

I know it's not a grammar or spelling board, but that's a pretty good one.

Intensive purposes? A purpose that's real intense, I guess.

Sorry, not trying to be a jerk (which I will prove by putting in a smiley face: :) But that's just real funny, for all intents and purposes.
