Thought this was interesting as usually foreign leaders like to publicly maintain neutrality near election time. This came from private talks ... I guess they were not to private. I think it's safe to say consider the source as this is a jewish news source.

Sources: Sarkozy views Obama stance on Iran as 'utterly immature' - Haaretz - Israel News

Should Obama win as expected ... I doubt Sarkozy has much influence with Obama. Bush has managed to get France on our side ... I am not sure that's a good thing but as they say it is what it is.

you mean the conservative French President with a 30% apprval rating?

I thought we weren't supposed to listen to foreign support of Obama because they only like him since he's "weak" and they can, to quote Harry Boy, "sh!t all over him."

Isn't this actually an endorsement then?

I'm not sure what it is ... I mean it's France.
He says Obama is weak and then he says he's going to lobby whomever wins and early. I don't trust him Wildo ... I posted it because I wanted to see what others here thought of this. Is France on Iran's side or not? On Russia's side or not? Are they always on the side that they think will win?

I think Sarkozy is a failure of a President who will be out of office soon.

I believe your motivations, but conservatives who have said all along that they don't care what the rest of the world thinks about us and Barack Obama, now want to use this when a leader disagrees with Obama.

Sarkozy's opinion is less worthy of looking into than the guy down the street who walks all day long, up and down his mother's driveway, cursing at the Marsians because they took his wife away, because at least he can vote.

Sorry to crush your thread, F.B.N.:

Ben Smith's Blog: Sarkozy calls Iran remarks 'groundless' - Politico.com

The French Embassy puts out a statement denying the Haaretz report that an Israeli official said President Sarkozy was troubled by his Iran policy:

"The remarks attributed by the newspaper Haaretz to the president of the French Republic concerning Sen. Obama's positions on Iran are groundless. To the contrary, the in-depth discussions between the president of the Republic and Sen. Obama on Iran during their meeting in Paris in July demonstrated a broad convergence of views on this issue. President Sarkozy and Sen. Obama agree to oppose Iran's development of a military nuclear capability."

Sorry. You buried the "consider the source" part really well.

Probably best to put it up there in the title.

End Summation: The premise of the thread is completely false. Source was evidently as reliable as Ashley Todd.
