Nothing official until 4PM, but with the Silly Season about to begin, some early reports from Jason La Canfora on Twitter:

    - Brandon Alberts to Miami a done deal, will average $10M/year. ProFootballTalk Reports that Alberts has been putting himself on a bunch of Dolphins players' Tiwtter lists.

    - Michael Johnson to Tampa Bay apparently a done deal. Will average $8.5M/year, similar to the Everson Griffen deal, with $24M guaranteed.

    - Andre Roberts to Washington a done deal.

That's a solid deal for the Redskins. Good player, without overpaying ridiculously. It may also set a baseline for Julian Edelman.

Why not both? Edelman had a big season last year, but it's only 1 really good year. Roberts has been consistent and solid over 4 seasons. More receptions, yards and TDs in 4 years than Edelman has had in 5.

I expect Edelman to get more based on his big year and "projected upside", but it shouldn't be ridiculously more, which is why I used the term "baseline".

Lovie looks like he's trying to rebuild the front 7 to really bring back Buc's fans fond memories of the old Tampa 2, but he won't have a Ronde Barber after he cuts Revis.

Lot of money for a 32-year-old linebacker. Still, Dansby is a great player. Not sure how much of an upgrade he'll be over Jackson.

And I think Donte Whitner is a step down from TJ Ward. Not sure I agree with these two moves by Cleveland.

I thought they overspent, too (though its not much more than D'Qwell Jackson got from Indy). They paid high for Desmond Bryant and Paul Kruger last year. Trying to buy respectability, with the cap space to do it.

Colts adding some good pieces on defense. They're looking to take that next step from solid playoff team to legitimate AFC contender.

Ravens re-signing Eugene Monroe, according to Schefter.

Good thing the Pats didn't need an OT. That market dried up very quickly.

They are taking a page out of Daniel Snyder's book throwing big money at big names, not necessarily big production (although Dansby is good and it is his age that is the issue). I thought the Pats might get Whitner because I figured he would a player who's stock would fall and they could get him at a bargain. Didn't think he would get very good safety money.
