    #54 Jersey

    That woould be a haul.

    Interesting note about trading down to 10 with Jacksonsville, not sure they would go for Spiller. McClain or Morgan make more sense IMO.

    "Just a thought — but what if New England were to package their No. 22 overall pick and one of their three second-rounders for the No. 10 spot? The Pats could grab RB C.J. Spiller and upgrade their aging offense in an instant and the Jags could spend low first-round cash, instead of Top 10 money, on a guy they likely covet very much."

    I don't like it. Rather have:

    22. Everson Griffen, OLB/DE, USC
    44. Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama
    47. Corey Wooton, DE/DT, Northwestern
    53. Damian Williams, WR, USC

    surprised that he has the Pats taking two DE/OLB. That being the case I would rather have Odrick at 22, Hughes at 44 and Sapp at 47.

    I don't like the Gresham pick. His injury history is a little worrisome. The guy I'm really starting to warm up to at the TE position is the kid from Miami Graham. He has little experience (being a former basketball player), but according to a lot of scouts he is a definite sleeper with huge upside. The only problem is he may be over drafted.

    Why would we want more picks? Do you really expect us to draft more than 12 players? If anything, I'd expect us to trade up in this year's draft or trade a second rounder for a first next year. However, I don't even see that happening since everyone has been calling this the deepest draft in years.

    It is exactly because it is a DEEP draft, that I'd want to trade back. I'd want to get more picks in this year's draft as well as the 2011 draft which is shaping up to have a lot of quality at the top, although probably not nearly as deep overall as the 2010 draft.

    Well, sure, but you're using the benefit of hindsight to know how the draft's going to unfold after #22. I think Hughes being available at #44 is very unlikely to happen, and if so, Belichick would probably have to draft him as great value.

    If the draft fell that way, I try to trade up to get Morgan (later picks and/or package of Sanders/McGowan). Also pass on Williams and take Houston instead (some solid WRs are going to drop).

    Morgan + Hughes + Houston = Wildly athletic defensive additions

    Gresham = Exceptional value at #44 and fills a need

    Wouldn't even need to see the remaining picks to rate this an A+++ haul.

    Why would you be surprised about that? The Pats need 2 OLB/DEs as it stands right now.

    Of course, they also need an ILB, WR, and OG.. CB is probably 5th or 6th on the list.

    for the reason you gave. Maybe I should have been a bit clearer in my original post. I would be surpirsed if they took two OLB/DE with their first 4 picks. I have no issue with them taking 2 OLD/DE, but I think 1 should be taken within the first 4 picks, and then one later. Like you said, there are other holes to fill.

    We will likely have about 10 of last year's rookies still on the roster. Plus the way you make it sound we'll have about 10 more in this year's class. I doubt we're going to field a team made up of 40 percent freshman and sophomores. How many vets would have to be cut, and how successful will such a young team be this year?

    I would think with the 12 picks and all the 6th and 7th rounders, we'll sign fewer free agents. I say about 6 draftees make the roster, 2 or 3 on IR and 3 to 5 make the practice squad.

    The Graham and Gresham pick are terrible. Kindle should be the pick or trade down and try to get a 3rd round pick and take Spikes.

    Graham ---> Kindle or trade down and try to get a 3rd round pick*
    Gresham ----> OT/G
    Hughes -----> Good pick
    Williams -----> Good pick

    *take Spikes with 3rd round pick.

    If it actually shook out like that I would be estatic...... Cancel the rest of the draft and let's just get on with our lives. That is a sick haul.......

    Assuming no trades

    22: Kindle is the pick closer to the Pats desired measurables

    44: I am actually ok with the Gresham pick given who is off the board and who is available later

    47 can't see two OLB's though Hughes and Sapp are tempting. I like McCluster here, but I will go more conventiional with adding Kareem Jackson

    53 Arrelious Benn makes this draft being available here.

    I'd rather have Wooten than Hughes.
