Several news agencies this evening are reporting that former President Gerald Ford died this evening.

I remember him as a calm and honest presence in a time of chaos. He served as Vice President and President without being elected to either position.

    And a klutz. :)

But he did help get the country through a miserable time.

    Rest in peace.

Gerald Ford was a moderate Republican who eased tensions and guided the nation through tough times. R.I.P.

President Ford pardoned Nixon, and gave Cheney and Rumsfield their first big opportunities at 1600 Penn. Ave.

I guess I never thought of him as a good president, but that information surely changes that.

To be a good president to a liberal democrat, you have to do the following,
Be politically correct at all times.
Let every third world country on the planet sh!t all over you.
Have Lefty Movie Stars visit the White House every week end.
Have sex with them every weekend.
    Give The Panama Canal Away
    See a flying saucer
Hold Up A Beagle By His Ears
Make believe you love Minority's, gush and fawn when you see one.
Always have minority's standing around you when giving a speech.
Try to look like a cute little boy, (bite your lip)
    Bomb a Chinese Embassy
    Lie to a grand jury
Steal spoons and dishes when you leave the White House
    Kill A Cat
    Rape somebody
Pardon all your wifes criminal friends
Masturbate under your desk while you have phone sex.

PRESIDENT FORD WAS ONE OF THE MOST DECENT MEN IN POLITICS.
    RIP

Ford was weak and innocuous, but maybe that's what the country needed after Watergate.

I hope President Fords passing doesn't screw up Auntie Pelosi's 3 day Coronation Party.

Democrat Far Lefties will have to lay low for a few days while all these "nice things" are being said about Ford.

In reading his reasoning behind that decision, it was pretty logical. Basically, paying for their mistake gives them no responsibility and they end up repeating their mistake.

He was on the Warren Commission IIRC. If anything ever got short-shrift(thanks Ollie Stone) it was the Warren Commission.

Ford was a decent man. He must have had a difficult time during his presidency because of his decency. I think in today's politics, he would still be a lawyer in Michigan. I always liked him because his voice and calmness reminded me of my grandfather. He was the perfect man at the time, and the most decent thing Nixon ever did for America, even though he didn't mean to be decent.

Ford inherited some nasty sh!t when he became President and he handled it well, the aftermath of Watergate and Viet Nam.

Rest In Peace President Ford no matter what the Whiney Liberal Haters say I Liked you, they will find a way to trash you because you wern't one of them, these same people think more of KKK Byrd & Cynthia McKinney than they do you.

    President Ford:
Your portrait will hang in the White House right along with FDR Lincoln Washington and GW Bush. :rocker:

    Footnote On Saddam:
Some in the Dip Sh!t Media are wondering if killing Saddam will cause Violence to erupt in Iraq, what the
f-ck do they think is going on over there now :singing: :singing:

Not the smartest thing you ever posted, Boy. Maybe the dumbest thing I've ever seen in this forum.

That rumbling you hear is FDR, Washington, and Lincoln rolling over in their graves.

I'm referring to how you mentioned Bush and Ford in the same sentence as our three GREATEST Presidents. How long do you think Washington would tolerate that moron Bush in the same room?

Sorry about that post. I've seen much dumber stuff in this forum. I apologize if I offended you.:eat3: :bricks:

another useless, overdramatic, inaccurate piece of inane pablum... yawn... it's especially lame, considering the thread is about Ford's eulogy...

i'm tempted to provide the hyperbolic retort of what makes a good president to a Bunker-ish closet racist Con man, but it's just too easy...

anyhow, now that you've spoiled the thread, the fact is Ford's weak administration was essentially taken over .. and by who else? Cheney and Rumsfeld... watch Part II of "The Dark Side" if unwilling to admit it to yourself...

Narrator: "Then, as Gerald Ford took office, they (Don and Dick) took over running the White House. ... They were formiddable beauracratic in-fighters... And one day, they proved it... Literally remaking the Ford administration, in a legendary maneuver performed entirely behind the scenes."

Ron Suskind: "In really a couple of days, the so-called "Halloween Massacre," they managed to cut Henry Kissenger's job in half, the VP Rockefeller is swiftly marginalized, ... William Colby, then running the CIA, is replaced with George H.W. Bush.... Rumsfeld moves to be Secretary of Defense, Cheney moves up to Rumsfeld's job as Chief of Staff... It's an extraordinary tactical flourish."
