Looking at Bartrum and Steve DeOssie's careers, it makes me wonder why more TEs and LBs don't practice the art of the deep snap. Both of these players extended their careers well beyond their natural years.
If I were in a particular player's shoes (I'm thinking of former Pat Dan Klecko), I would spend most of the calendar year practicing my deep snaps.
Other great examples: Trevor Matich, a former 1st round bust of the Pats, who played beyond his years. And, Brian Kinchen, the long-time TE/DS who came out of retirement, in January 2004, to replace the injured Lonie Paxton and played in his first SB and getting a SB ring in the process.
Congrats Mr. Bartrum, on completing a long NFL career, complete with 2 SB appearances: Pats in '96 and Philly in '04.
