Former NFL Exec Called Out by Patriots Twitter After Brazilian Plane Crash Tweet

Ian Logue

Twitter is one of those mediums where bad judgement lives on in infamy, and a former NFL Exec got taken to task after his comments brought out the ire of the Patriots' official Twitter account.

That comment is worse than poor judgement, its lacking intelligence and heart

Kudos for the pats response, and Ian for the reminder

The remark was incredibly crass. However there are already reports about what Brazilian teams are going to do so the affected team is not relegated.

Pretty much every player (except 3), every member of their staff, coaches, trainers ect are all dead and that moron is talking like they're cattle who can just be replaced in a day.

At least the guy is being honest about how the NFL feels about its players, nothing but cattle to make the owners rich.

The NFL is violent and with the way salaries are structured there is no other way to protect player contracts. Look at Revis he gets the big pay day he still had 2-3 years left at a high level and he shows up fat and out of shape. Steve and Fred said if you guarenteed the contracts for NFL players you would have a lot of guys sitting out every week. Sorry to go off topic.

On a human level, Brown's comments are disgusting.

While I'm sure others in the league office will say that he does not represent their view of players, I think he does represent their attitudes towards them.

How they have dealt with concussions, discipline, celebrations and the NFLPA are examples of this.

It's ok to view players as employees but their treatment of them shows little appreciation- except they are paid well then thrown in the trash.

And the NFL would once again severely damage its future as both the players and fans reacted by rejecting such a move and insisted on an adequate period for grieving. The League would be so focused on keeping the revenue rolling in that they'd miss what was truly important about it all.

Especially in this new age of instant media, day after day it is proven that the smartest soul ever put on this planet was Bambi's mother.....

If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.

Or the Robert De Niro's character in Goodfellas:

Your learned the two biggest lessons in life, never rat on your friends, and always keep your mouth shut.
