Every 2-3 months a new layer of confirmation comes to the surface corroborating what we all pretty much knew. This one is no different.

Yeah, gonna be buying this book.

Ex-top soldier: Iraq war ‘fiasco’ due to Rumsfeld’s ‘lies'

Rumsfeld had 'worst style of leadership I witnessed in 38 years of service'

"Spinning the possible possession of WMDs as a threat to the United States in the way they did is, in my opinion, tantamount to intentionally deceiving the American people," Shelton writes.

Somehow I am not surprised.... the whole Iraq thing bankrupted this country and will continue to do so for the next 60 years...

Will not ever understand why impeachment was never brough to the table...

Shelton has plenty of unflattering assessments of Clinton staff, including Albright, who suggested a U-2 flight over Baghdad that Saddam would assuredly shoot down.

Regardless, here is yet another top brass coming right out and flat declaring they lied us into Iraq. I think the debate was over years ago, but this is like a garbage-time touchdown.

Other assertions, from the Amazon book review page:

If there is a "republican avalanche" look forward to more and more wars, more collateral damage and the continued effort to bankrupt his country all the while the merchants of death(AKA war profiteers) are laughing all the way to the bank.

If it is peace you want do not elect the neo con loving righties.. they all have hair triggers and love to send the young men off to war.....

Then "throw them out" and keep doing it, allowing people like Kennedy and KKK Byrd to stay on that job for all of those years was "sick'

I don't see what the lies are in that story, unless not liking your boss means that everything he or she says is a lie.

Somehow that never happens... people fall in love with the appearance or mirage, not with the reality... see Ronald Reagan.

Me and Mrs Flex were watching the news last night for 4 hours  like we always do. She said to me something to the effect "there could be some real wacko's elected this year" "the government could really get dumbed down" I replied "i know its good we're hold up in the mountains and surrounded by farms." We could walk to the country store that gets everything from the those farms". "Makes me feel safer"

She could be right but it can't get any worse than it is right now, we have hit rock bottom, now there is nowhere to go but back up or, as God Willing Islam steps in and takes us over.
Imagine what Islam would do to the Liberals and their "let it all hang out sh!t" Imagine what Islam would do to the View Girls and America's entertainment world and all of their "Sex Sh!t"

HEADS WILL BE ROLLING ALL ACROSS AMERICA

Islam is cool with sex. In fact, the younger the better!
The age of consent in Iran is 9 (by law). In Saudi Arabia, they are toying with the idea of establishing a minimum age for marriage for the first time after they suffered a little embarrassment on the world scene when an 11 year-old girl sought a divorce from her 80 year-old husband.

Men can have all they want. The rules for women are a little more, umm, restrictive. For Muslim women, they may only be with their husband. For non-Muslim women, it's open season. A man can have up to four wives and unlimited concubines.

Your right, I should have been more clear, "Women" they treat their donkey's better than they do their women, I can't understand why Liberal American Women defend Islam----????

One of the first things Islam would do should they gain power in America would be to round up Joy, Paris Hilton, Madonna, Lindsay and Whoopi then stone them to death.

If we questioned our dear leader George W. Bush, it would've emboldened the enemy, and we would've been making decisions that showed the world that we didn't support our troops.

Plus we needed to bring the muslim people of Iraq freedom. We needed to torture the freedom loving muslims into false confessions that they had connections with terrorists that were created by the CIA.

    Don't you get it?

If we impeached Bush, the terrorists would've won. Thank god we didn't because ever since we made the decision to invade Iraq, things have turned out pretty darn good in america.

-Morale worldwide is UP amongst our soldiers
    -Our economy is doing great
-we have close to zero percent unemployment
-Al Quaeda has been reduced to a few scrappy terrorists held up in some cave, and should die any day nopw of starvation.
-There is peace in teh middle east
-Freedom and democracy has been adopted by almost every nation in the middle east.
-The natural resources of all nations is going to the people, not multi-national corporations
    -everyone has health coverage
    -we are better educated

    oh wait....

You're being willfully dismissive, perhaps because you admire Dick and Don's initiative back then.

    Read the story again.

"President Bush and his team got us enmeshed in Iraq based on extraordinarily poor intelligence and a series of lies purporting that we had to protect Americans from Saddam's evil empire because it posed such a threat to our national security," Shelton writes in his memoir.

After his first meeting with Rumsfeld, Shelton recalls thinking, "We're going to need some heavy-duty cleaning supplies if all we're going to do is waste time having pissing contests like this." When Rumsfeld was proven wrong in a meeting, Shelton says, he wouldn't admit it, but rather would press on and do "his best to stay afloat amid the bull**** he was shoveling out."

At one point, Rumsfeld utterly rejected a plan for how to deal with Iraqi attacks on U.S. warplanes in the old "no-fly zones." Shelton liked the plan how it was, so when ordered to revamp it, he let it sit on his desk for a couple of weeks, and then sent it back to the defense secretary with a new label on it: "Rumsfeld Auto-Response Matrix." "He loved every word of it," Shelton reports with unconcealed contempt.

"Spinning the possible possession of WMDs as a threat to the United States in the way they did is, in my opinion, tantamount to intentionally deceiving the American people," Shelton writes.

Can't get any worse than it is now?

Let's see, 9/11 and its aftermath were pretty damned bad. Certainly worse than today.

Same goes for the days / weeks in the fall of 2008 when it looked like the entire economy might collapse.

Like many Republicans, you've got a short memory when it enables you to pin the blame on a Dem instead.

What were the series of lies?

It's easy to criticize intelligence in hindsight.

Tell you what, so that you can't cheat by knowing the ending, let's make a bet on whether Iran is close to having a nuclear weapon. Neither of us know for sure. The stakes will be the lives of a few million people. Are you up for that? That is what the president and his administration were faced with.

This guy is trying to sell books. (You know, that evil capitalist motive that people on here are always decrying as the root of all evil).

I'm just curious, do you have a script that auto-posts the same thing in every thread or do you manually use a macro or something? If you haven't looked into a script, I'd advise it, you would save a lot of time.
