Could we move up for McClain or D.Morgan if they're on the board at 10? Might just cost us the 2nd we got from them anyway. Which we got from them for a 3. There's been speculation Top 4 teams want to move down. I don't see a target there for us. And, would be too costly dollar wise and draft pick wise. I can see top 10 going something like;

St L - N. Suh
Det - G. McCoy
TB - E. Berry
Wash - S. Bradford
KC - R.Okung
Sea - D. Morgan
Cleve - D. Bryant
Oak - J. Haden
Buff - J. Clausen

That would put McClain there. If Sea takes a qb, maybe D.Morgan slides to 10.

Jags want to trade down, too | ProFootballTalk.com

Sounds good to me.....Hit BB up with this and we can get rolling....

Picking around there is a nice sweet spot where the talent level in this draft remains strong while contracts are reasonable. Whether it was for Haden, Bryant, McClain or Morgan I would be highly interested in trading a #1 and #2 for one of those players while still having two #2s left.

Yes for Haden if Bodden walks.

Yes for Morgan under any circumstances and with all due haste.

No for anyone else.

Agreed. I'd rather have Graham and Spikes than just McClain.

NO in all cases for me. In fact, I would like to trade our #22 for a second and a third. 4 #2's and a high third rounder this year would be sooooooooooooo very sweet!

I think we should change the defense entirely to a more 4-3 look, so then you wouldn't need McClain.

Plus he'll probably fall when he runs a 4.7 40 yard dash.

I'm thinking of a "large front" 4-3 with Warren and Wright as DEs and Pryor and Brace as DTs. Crable and TBC as pass rushing specialists on 3rd down...the pass rush could also be brought from safety blitzes, etc. Then Guyton as an OLB and another OLB. The key is on neutralizing the line completely with our large DL, IMO.

We don't seem to have the personnel for a 3-4 and it's too hard to man apparently. No 3-4 OLB (Burgess? LOL) and no 3-4 ILB other than Mayo who is possibly injured long term (good job rushing the knee injury back). Mayo isn't big or strong enough to take on guards, apparently.

I would take Jacksonville's 1st and OLB Groves for #22 and our first second rounder; provided McClain was still on the board.

That would be an awesome trade for both parties!

This would be an ideal trade for both parties. Jax grabs hometown hero Tebow with #44 and we get McClain and Groves. Thus addressing to positions of need..... Nice

The delicious irony is we got that pick at #42 FROM Jax!

The team that can use Vick the most is Jacksonville. They need to sell seats big time. Garrard is not the answer and Tebow is a gamble at #10. so trade down for #22 and #44 with Groves. Tebow should still be available in the third at #74 if they are heart set on getting him. They can then use #44 to Grab Vick from Philly. I do not buy Philly holding off until pre-season if they get an offer now. He pulls a hammy in pre-season or takes a weird hit and good bye second rounder. That would be a stupid move on there part and make sense to move him now. They will not do better in pre-season.

you guys think that is plausible?

I don't think there's any way Morgan drops out of the top 10. But if he does. He'd definitely be a target for me.

Check him out.

Would he be playing OLB for us or more of an Elephant role? He's not big enough for a 3-4 DE. We know he can rush the passer but how is he in space?
He's McGinest stiff in space, I'm not sure he's got the experience/natural gifts at this point to make some of the plays Willie did, but give him a couple/three years and he'll likely make the odd play in coverage.
