I think the fact that someone thought this would be a great idea, kinda tells you how out of touch some people inside these political operations are. Whether it's a judge who thinks its ok to send beastiality emails about the president, or some dem party operative who thinks it's a good idea to replace the stars on the American flag with an image of Obama. Are some people really this stupid? Apparently yes.

Lake County, Fla., veterans don't cotton to any tampering with Old Glory. Anyone who dares remove the stars from the flag does so at their own peril - in this case, the Lake County Democratic Party, which decided to hoist a flag with President Obama's image in place of the traditional stars over their headquarters.

Veterans called the reconfigured banner "a disgrace," reports Fox News. "It's absolutely disrespectful," said Jim Bradford, 71-year-old veteran who served during the Bay of Pigs invasion. Bradford sent pictures of the flag to fellow veterans and delivered a copy of the federal flag code to Nancy Hurlbert, chairwoman of the Lake County Democratic Party. Hurlbert apologized and removed the flag.

agreed -- but at least they apologized and took it down, which is basically how things should work

As I've said before here, when you screw up, apologize -- it doesn't mean you're weak.

Every once in awhile i agree with you, you are right on this one, absolutely.

Now my thoughts on The Obama Flag.
I can't even stand seeing his picture in the news let alone on the American Flag

Full agreement. Completely asinine and inappropriate to do that to the nation's flag.

Did the people responsible for that take it down and apologize? If they spent a few days trying to explain the "reasoning" for that then they are even bigger idiots than the initial act proved.

Great photo, Mrs. P, for exposing the false indignity of the radical right. Chances are these same hypocrites have no objection to the traitorous Confederate flag.

That's why I referred to exposing the false indignity of the radical right.

    By bringing up GWB/Palin?

Sometimes just leave it at "that was [insert negative adjective here]".

Obviously, there were no complaints by righties against Bush and Palin. I for one view the flag as a piece of fabric that can be used in a variety of ways--to show respect to our nation, protest our nation, express support for a particular set of views, etc. I think this flag issue is nonsense, and that people are pandering to right by taking it seriously.

The Flag Code has been in the shytter for about 10+ years now, between the tattered flags flown out of car windows, non illuminated flags flowing at night, to throwing them in the trash, as part of the clothes worn by rock stars or flight attendants on Southwet...

Not much respect at all... it is a desensitization process...
