A new movie of this ill-fated flight is coming out soon. One pundit observed that it took 90 minutes for 21st century Americans to move from Pearl Harbor to The Doolittle Raid.

Apparently this flick gets cries of "Too soon" from some preview viewing theater goers. Wonder if they'll show the media forbidden images of working folks jumping to their deaths to escape frying alive?

I don't care how well it's done, we don't need to be making movies about that IMO. Certainly no-one should make a dollar off of it.

The familes of those killed were involved and approved. It's never too soon to forget what happened. Many have.

I agree. But the best way to remind ourselves is to broadcast the video of the event as it occurred, not make a Hollywood adaptation of it.

I don't care if the families approve or not, this should not be a money making opportunity.

I'm not saying the government should not allow it but the people involved should have the good taste to choose not to do it.

Good taste has never been part of the equation.

Don't get me wrong, I support the free market, but we've gotta be honest with ourselves and not expect self-restraint from it.

So you oppose WWII movies made during and after WWII?????
Can't show Americans attacked at Pearl Harbor.

I don't know. Don't ask me to be consistent. But I don't like this.

I'd probably watch it, down the road. Too soon for me right now. It was hard enough for me to see Spielberg's movie on the Holocaust and I'm just a babybooming Catholic. Hopefully, its done right and is factual. It could become a film that future generations will see and have a clear understanding of the events that we witnessed first hand.

I think its disgusting, personally. And I definitely won't see it.

And I don't think that this can be compared to a WWII movie. . .considering that many people survived Pearl Harbor, but no one survived flight 93. I think that this movie should be taken with a little bit more than a grain of salt since it appears to be pure speculation.
