Ian's Daily Blog - Newsday offered up an interesting column this morning, outlining the five ways the Jets could beat the Patriots this Sunday when the two teams face off at the Meadowlands. Their five points are: 1) Bring the Heat on Tom Brady 2) Let Mark Sanchez test the Patriots deep early in the game. 3) Run it. Then run it some [...]

I agree the five points Newsday makes are essentially stating the obvious. But what they fail to do is consider how the Jets are supposed to complete all of those tasks. Just exactly how is a team supposed to get pressure on the QB with more pass rushers than offensive linemen to block them, while at the same time providing tight coverage on Faulk and Welker underneath as well as blanketing the receivers on the outside?

Good stuff, Ian.

5 Ways the Jets can lose:

1. Piss off Tom Brady by saying you want to embarrass him and fly around his knee to make him nervous. Um, yea - That's just stupid. Matt (aka Todd) Light and gang have been given notice.

2. Tell the Media that you’re not as good a coach as Bill Belichick and your QB is not as good as Tom Brady........and completely forget that Randy Moss is the Patriots #1 receiver.

3. Leave a message for your fans that you need them to show up, knowing that you've just asked Tom and the offense to work on the silent count all week - Not to mention, if you need to ask them for their support, do you really think a canned message is going to help? Ok, fine.

4. Claim to be playing in a Super Bowl in Sept. - When the Patriots have played in 4 actual Super Bowls (In Feburary) in the past 8 years.

5. Talk about "not going to back down to any team", "Not going to kiss rings", etc - In the immortal words of a previous Jets head coach, Rex - "You play to win the game". We get it Rex, You are playing to win the game, problem is so is Bill, and he's a better coach than you. Right?

Heres one way the jets players can win.

The pats blow out the jets 45 to o. The jets players rebell and install a muzzle on Rex Ryan.
