Nice job. Your sticking your neck out on a couple of longshots (Nunn and Ninkovich ) but I like both players as well. I like the BJGE over Morris too.
This is one of the best 53 man projections I have seen.

Thanks. I'm up to ONE right, so far with Walter being cut.

I hope I'm not spending good luck points that would be better used in the "Predict The Score" game...

By what time tomorrow do the cuts have to be made?

I like logging these things, and since we're having a baby sometime in the next 24 hours, I thought I'd get it up ASAP.

Also, note I am making amends for my Faulk-cutting ways. haha

Without consulting capology, I took Nunn over Galloway and made a guess that Morris is too injured coupled with BJGE adding to STs. Alaso assuming Slater to IR.

Also like Ninkovich over Lenon.

I agree. I like the longshots, and respect you for going out on a limb.

If Nunn and Ninkovich don't make it, though, are they PS eligible? Would they make it without being snatched up by other teams?

Most importantly, congratulations on the new baby. Is it going to be Thomas Randy JSn? Or Julian Terrence JSn? Or BenJarvus Tedy JSn?

Or is it a girl?

Haha, yeah. My wife wouldn't be stoked about BenJarvus, ha.

Nunn and Ninkovich are eligible (right?) but I doubt they'd clear waivers. We have to remember that every team is trying timprove the passing department and few teams are as deep at WR as we are (on paper).

Whether Ninkovich has been a topic of discussion a few times over the past few weeks.

My understanding, after reading the rules, is that Ninkovich would not be eligible for the PS because he spent the entire 2007 year on the Miami Active Roster (not game roster). I think that the fact that Miami didn't sign Ninkovich to their practice squad last year after his release from the Saints, supports this idea.. But only time will tell.

First, I hope all goes well with the birth.

I mostly agree with the 53. I like ninkovich as well.
He, along with nunn and williams(everybody seems to be quite about him, but hes gotten a lot of playing time so far) are good, "no name" players that will be tough to decide what to do with

Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.

No worries. I assume I'll be busy saying idiotic things like "keep breathing" and trying to avert my eyes from the business end of a birth canal at that time, but if there's a lull in the action I'll be watching.

Just tell the lovely lady that you'll be in a local pub with handfuls of cigars to hand out when you get the phone call/text letting you know that the child was born.

That's the way God intended it.

It's one of the league's most confusing rules, but I actually think Ninkovich is eligible. Based on the likes of JT O'Sullivan, it seems that you can retain PS eligibility for years by not being activated for 9+ games.

That is interesting that, prior to his PS stint with the Patriots, that O'Sullivan had been on the active roster for 16+ games for 3 years, and only playing in 1 game.

So, unless there was a tweak in the CBA, Ninkovich should be PS eligible.

I haven't seen last nite's game yet - but did Ninkovich play ILB or something? Thats the second time I've seen him referenced as ILB on here. Ninkovich seems strictly a DE/OLB hybrid guy, with no chance to play ILB, let alone a 3-down OLB at this point in time. He'd be a good player to stash on the PS for a year.

I didn't see Ninkovich play ILB, but played terrific against the 1st team Giants Offense. He held the egde a few times, once beating off the block from the Pro Bowl FB and tackling Brandon Jacobs one on one for a loss. Next play they threw a long TD pass!. I see Ninkovich as a 1st and 2nd down OLB, with Burgess coming in on 3rd down to rush the passer. Ninkovich can also play ST.

My best guess -

Offense (26)
Quarterback (3): Brady, Walter or Trade, Hoyer – Walter may indeed be very good, but they might want to trade for another established QB (Feeley). Hoyer put on a show last night and will never get through waivers to the PS. Looks like trade or 2 QBs with Edelman as the 2nd QB (Hoyer as Emergency) keeping an extra spot on the 45 man game day roster

Running back (5): Faulk, Taylor, Maroney, Green-Ellis, Morris - Been singing the praises of BJGE for weeks. He had a great game last night, even if it was against the scrubs. Morris could get cut because of his age, injury history, and the fact he doesn’t play Special Teams.

Tight end (3): Baker, Thomas, Watson - Smith may have injury which could prevent a trade. Injury settlement? Watson played well last night, but why was he on the field with the 3 – 4 units?

Receiver (7): Moss, Welker, Nunn, Lewis, Edelman, Aiken, Ventrone - Galloway has shown me that he doesn’t get it, and his age is a big factor. Don’t think they can sneak Nunn through waivers for the PS. Nunn made a very nice one handed grab, can replace Slater on Kick Returns and is fast like Galloway, who doesn’t play ST. BB loves Ventrone because of his ST play and versatility (played as Dwight Freeney) on the Scout Team in last year’s practice. He replaces Slater (Nasty injury – I did the exact same thing and it took months to heal. He has actually torn every muscle in his forearm, and it will be weeks before he can extend his arm. Aiken showed he is more than a ST player last night.

Offensive line (8): Light, Mankins, Koppen, Neal, Kaczur, Vollmer, Ohrnberger, O’Callaghan - Wendell has PS eligibility so I cut him and try and get him on PS. Ohrnberger played pretty well at OC last night (one shotgun snap off his butt and one holding call notwithstanding). Having Wendell and Connolly on the PS is insurance. O’Callagahan is the backup because of BB’s philosophy that you can make an OT into OG but not the other way around. Levoir is on PuP as insurance come week 7.

Defense (24)

Defensive line (7): Warren, Wilfork, Seymour, Green, Brace, Pryor, Wright -
Surprised by the early Steven Williams cut. Brace has disappointed me this pre-season. If you saw “Hard Knocks” Cincinnati Bengals Training Camp on HBO, you will see Brace get blown up by a Jason Shirley in the 2nd pre-season game. Shirley is trying to convert from DT to OG. He had only played O line for a week before the Patriots pre-season game. From top to bottom this has been the best group of D lineman the Patriots have ever had in camp. The one drawback is that they are all exactly the same – run stoppers. BTW if Shirley is cut by Cinci, I’m jumping all over that developmental player! Daryl Richards to PS.

Hybrid defensive end/linebacker (3): Burgess, Banta-Cain, Ninkovich – They are going more to the 4-3 because of their lack of depth in the ILB. Did you see Ninkovich against the Giants #1 offense last night. He was immense in stuffing the run and holding the edge. One play in particular caught my eye. He took on the Pro Bowl FB, held the point of attack, fought off the blocker and tackled Brandon Jacobs one on one for a two yard loss. IU could see Ninkovich as a 1st and 2nd down OLB in either 3-4 or 4-3 with Burgess coming in on 3rd down to rush the passer. Ninkovich also plays ST.

Linebacker (5): Mayo, Thomas, Guyton, Woods, Alexander - Cut Crable, he has done nothing, is hurt again and can’t make the team from tub. Not sure if he qualifies for PS. Lenon was horrible. Woods looked good rushing the passer albeit against the 3rd string.

Cornerback (5): Springs, Bodden, Wilhite, Butler, Wheatley - Wheatley has been disappointing this pre-season. Seems to have lacked confidence.

Safety (4): Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan – solid group

Special Teams (3)

Specialists (3): Gostkowski (K), Hanson (P), Ingram (LS)

I like the fact that you kept Ninkovich on your 53; I've said all along that I like the way he plays, and I feel he should be there. I also like that you kept Nunn; I think there's a real possiblity that Galloway gets cut.

There is rumbling the Pats may just go with 2 QB's.

I'd like to hope that this means Nunn gets the extra spot.

My best guess -

How about Britt? I think he beats out Ohrnberger.

Alright let's see how I did:

Called Walter being cut.
Wrong about Feeley.
Right about BJGE.
Wrong about Morris.
Wrong about Thomas (thank you Jesus).
Wrong about Nunn and therefore
Wrong about Galloway
Wrong about O'Callahan
Wrong about Wendel
Wrong about Slater (But man, how can he not be DONE?)
Right about the D-Line
Right about LB's except...
Wrong about Crable (Bust? - Made of Glass?)
Right about the CB's (but who wasn't)
Got all the safeties, except Slater, who really doesn't count.

All in all, a decent shot.

Nailed some harder ones like Walter out and BJGE and Ninkovich in, so I'll take that over a kick in the junk.

What I really nailed was guessing the gender of my our baby, though.

It's a BOY! That's a TOTAL of 3 boys and 1 girl making the JSn family roster complete.

Congrats of course. 3 boys and 1 girl huh? My guess is that girl will turn out to be an excellent softball player. ;)
