During the non-contact, instruction-oriented workout inside the Patriots’ practice bubble, the receiver from Florida flashed all the skills that led the Pats to trade up to the 36th pick in the second round of the draft last month to nab him. His speed and hands were obvious, and he appeared to run his routes with crispness. Curren seems to have seen the same things. Although he cautions that Troy Polamolu wasn't lining up against him in the bubble.

A little less effusive about Maroney (made all the catches but it wasn't pretty) and Gostkowski (missed a few too - and the tidbit there was another un-named kicker in the bubble). Curren was particularly impressed with Bramlett. And noted BB spent significant time with his conversion projects Mincey and Woods.

IMHO, the Pats picked up TWO first rounders last month. A #2 WR and a back up RB. They also may have picked up a contributer at Fauria's old spot in Thomas.

The rest of them will be a crap shoot, but maybe a few of them including the UDFA rookies brought in may shine. Most of them will contribute depth to the 53 if they make it. The kicker in particular may have a shot at contributing.

Realistically, if 6-7 of them make the 53, that is about all I am expecting. (Maroney, Jackson, Thomas, Kicker, Mills. OCalaghan and Mincey - Roach is a long shot) This team is still very deep contrary to all the articles we see about them being in decline and the D doomsdayers lamenting the fact the Pats decided to focus on the O this draft.

Nice to have all these guys on the Chad Jackson bandwagon after all their posturing and predictions that BB would never have picked a WR in the first round... seems like BB purposefully wanted to show them up by stating that he strongly considered using the 1st round choice on Jackson.
