((Link not up yet but the story has crossed the AP Wire do doesn't need attribution....but i won't post it all...here's the jist)):

PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey lawyer wants the nation's
top court to review his lawsuit stemming from the New England
    Patriots' 2007 "Spygate" scandal.

They announced Thursday that they had filed a petition asking
the high court to review the case.

There are millions of frivolous lawsuits brought to the Supreme Court every year. It does not mean they will listen to it, and they probably won't, considering there is no constitutional question involved. The Supreme Court takes cases when major tenets are challenged, not cases involving supposed consumer rights violations, particularly in a spectator sport that guarantees nothing against collusion or fair play.

He is going to have to wait. I am still waiting for the Supreme Court to hear my appeal on Sue Swartz's denial of my invition to the prom back in high school. I think I have a better chance of getting in front of the Supreme Court than this moron does.

Seriously, is this guy's business so slow that he has time with frivolous lawsuits? There is no chance the Supreme Court hears this case and it never had a shot of going to trial in the first place.

So maybe i'll sue Jests for impersonating an NFL team and sue for mental anguish to have to hear about them EVERY DAY HERE IN NY!

Further proof that, demographically, no gene pool is safe.

There should be a financial penalty for frivolous BS clogging our court system.

This is one of the 95+% of cases filed that the Supreme Court has no intention of hearing. If you call about 5 minutes worth of review by a law clerk prior to denying certiorari 'clogging', then it will be that. Otherwise, just more publicity for the clowns pressing this issue.

A US District Court and a federal appeals panel have both already dismissed the suit. In the case of the appeals panel that was despite one of the three judges admittedly being a longtime diehard Steeler fan, who probably should have recused himself from that case. My best guess is that this lawyer considers this to be an effective way to get free advertising for himself; if that's the case, it's working quite well. On the other hand I don't know if I would want to trust my legal matters to a person with this type of decision making.

This reminds me of a Lewis Black standup routine I heard where there was this town that was featured on 60 minutes because it was the most sue happy town in the entire United States. And the people of that town were so upset about it they sued 60 minutes...

I know of a certain Dolphins' special teams gunner who would most certainly have a better case for damages.

And the worst curse the SCOTUS could ever drop on this dude is to actually accept the case. It's one thing to file the petition for certiorari. You could whip that together in a weekend. But think of the hundreds of hours this guy will need to spend on his brief and preparing his oral argument if the Court actually agreed to take the case. One of your all-time backfires.

Forget narrow reading vs. broad reading, liberal-leaning vs. conservative-leaning, activists vs. constructionists.

It's obvious both parties have been stacking the court with JEST fans for just such an occasion as this...

Well, the Giants fans hate the Jest more than they even care about the Pats.

    Not touching the political stuff....
