well, i guess at this point... with everyone but the shooters and Eric Prince of Darkness suggesting the shootings were unwarranted, including their own fellow contractors... we can perhaps slam shut yet another tired Con man talking point...

Blackwater guards think shootings were ‘unjustified.’

Blackwater USA CEO Erik Prince has repeatedly insisted that his company’s guards were “defending” themselves in the Sept. 16 shooting that killed 17 Iraqi civilians. But many Blackwater guards serving in Iraq disagree:

They described a grating sense among many of Blackwater guards, especially those with years of experience, that the killings on Sept. 16 were unjustified.

“Some guys are thinking that it was not a good shoot, that it was not warranted,” said one Blackwater contractor, using military jargon for an episode that results in a wrongful death. “I don’t think there was criminal intent involved. I just think it was the application of the use of deadly force gone horribly wrong.”

He added, “To mitigate one threat, 17 people had to die?”

    Exactly.

Criticism from media members and posters, who have no idea what it is like to be in that situation, are laughable. Keyboard warrior wanna-be's, ***'em!

yeah, now this here above is genius... in other words, every civilian killed over there is just a terrorist who had his weapon removed from his/her corpse for political purposes...

something tells me YOU have no idea what its like to be an unaccountable gunslinging cowboy mercenary either... time and time again, to people like you, it seems to be justified this way: "are they brown skinned? are they not smiling and reaching for candy? blast them"...

Press, I see you moved on the the Blackwater Case.......... Did you tire of Haditha when all those charges got dropped? Oh well, Congrats on big move and my condolences on the loss of Haditha. Better luck next time :singing:

Oh yeah, you forget to credit your "boys" at ThinkProgress for their story you posted. Yeah, they're a lefty smear site, but the do deserve credit too. Here, lemme help you; http://thinkprogress.org/2007/10/25/blackwater-guards-think-shootings-were-unjustified/

Oh yeah, and another thing, violence is down in Iraq and NO ONE died in Al Anbar last week.

p.s. Sorry about the Fox link, but it seems ThinkProgress isn't covering that story

The criticism stems from the fact that we're 4 years into this disaster yet we still can't seem to trust the Iraqi government to figure out whether an incident with dozens of witnesses and plenty of physical evidence is murder or not. You don't have to subscribe to Soldier of Fortune magazine to know that doesn't bode well for this attempt at nation-building.

wtf are you talking about? first, the charges haven't been "all dropped"... so right off the bat, you're just making things up... the "loss of Haditha?" my gawd... do you people just live in a fantasy world? i believe two were turned over to courts martial, and the case against the main suspect is upcoming... i mean, you are following the news before commenting on it, are you not?

you gotta love the Bush Leaguers trumpeting sudden success in Iraq because there are less bodies in the streets... as has been relayed, the people in the killing zones are either dead, moved to the other side of the Tigris, or left the country altogether... what did you expect, an infinite number of civilians standing around waiting for violent death to come to them? get over yourself...

the whole issue here is the privatization of security functions which should be the sole responsibility of the government.. does the US privatize their Border Patrol or the FBI? There is a reason for the structure provided, and when other parallel systems occur then a bunch of problems ensue.. some functions are the role of the US and some are private companies.. security is not one of them. Blackwater is the current whipping boy, rightfully so, this company has made billions of dollars off of the Iraq debacle.. most of what they have done has been outside of the military chain of command and the payment for which should have been the responsibility of the Iraqi gov't.. along with developing regulations for this private army.

We are yelling and this is not even a related topic! :D

Back to what the thread is about:
Originally everyone at BW was on these guy's side... it seems internally the true story has come out.

Also, I hate now people bash these guy's saying they are nothing but mercenary's. Yes, they are in fact mercenary's... but they are also our most decorated veterans. Every single person in this company has prior military experience... not only military, but Rangers, Seals, etc. So please, stop bashing our veterans.

Also, BW has a 100% success rate. They protect all the senators and high profile people who go to Iraq. They have never EVER let a protected person be killed. They CONSTANTLY go into the most dangerous situations and are CONSTANTLY the highest targeted people in Iraq.

How do you know any of this? Did Drudge or Townhall tell you? You need to qualify that they are our most decorated veterans? And you need to qualify they have a 100% success rate.. till you do this is just anecdotal rhetoric.

They also protect all the higher ups in the Iraqi gov't which should be a function of the Iraqi Gov't and paid by them also. Do not throw out the Veteran's card, how do you think all the professional army guys who do the same job for 50K per year with a very definite structure and rules feel about this unregulated force who make 180K per year??

They're mercenaries. It's a despicable occupation. It's not what the world needs or should have. You should not have private companies involved in a war in which they have a direct interest in the propagation of that war. The war ends, and you have a lot of people who find war exciting and are making a lot of money out of a job.

There were Murder charges brought against six people directly accused of participating in incident. the charges have been completely DROPPED for 4 of them. Murder charges against another (Tatum) were dropped, but he still faces involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges (...and stands a good chance of getting off on them). The case against the last "main subject" as you called him has not been ruled on. However, he has had his hearing and the hearing officer reccomended Murder chages be DROPPED in favor for the much less serious Negligent homicide (life in prison vs. 3 yrs Max) charges. The ruling has not yet been made.

The other two charged (cases still pending) are charges with administrative counts that have nothing do with the actual incident itself. Things like failure to report and incident, ect.

Point being.......... AT THE MOST, this case will end up being a violation against the "rules of engagement", as opposed to the "Murder of Innocents" you'd hoped it would be.

Typical........... Funny thing is, I actually agree with the premise of the initial story. I don't know all the facts, but from what I do know, it seems that this Blackwater case looks pretty shaky. Maybe not in a criminal way, but certainly in an overly aggressive approach way.

The point of my post is to MOCK your completely transparent attempt to post BAD NEWS in Iraq. Anything to make the troops or the effort look bad is fair game to you. You typical response to the article I posted is a classic.

The sustained reduction in violence is THE FASTEST way to get troops out and limit our involvement in that cesspool in the near and long term future. Yet, you can't stand the thought that our military effort is making progress towards that end and just want to spin that news any other way but positive.

Ummmmm, read the quote that that is referenced to, plus the prior dialog that led to it. By following the posts, it SHOULD come to you.

Come on Junior, either keep up with the discussion or don't bother jumping in and making yourself look silly

America is fighting Savage Murdering Killer Terrorists so what the hell is wrong with using a few Mercenaries to fight Animals.

Things are going much better in Iraq but you will have to "go looking" for the good news Cute Perky Katie sure as hell won't tell you about it.

Katie and her little gang of Squealing outraged Bush Haters couldn't get enough of the Dog Leash lady though.

Ladies Underwear on a Muslim Murderers head OH MY GOD HOW CRUEL.

You shouldn't resort to personal attacks just because you got called out for changing the subject. Try to be bigger than that in the future.

Need to clarify what you say, roll your eyes all you want, makes no sense to "junior"... thanks for the compliment.

If you follow this thread the rw sheeple just reiterate RW talking points, first Flea comes in with these are the most decorated veterans therefore what they do is good and if you do you are disloyal to the republic... you come back and comment that this all relates to thes surge and it is the best way to finish this inane conflict. This thread is about how some of the BW folks have said that the shooting is unjustified.. spin it any way you want, read all the talking points.. bottom line is that these mercenaries may have done something that violates the rules and if they did they should be held accountable.

Whats wrong with Mercenaries as long they are our Mercenaries the Savages we're fighting do far worse than use some hired people, we aren't fighting Soldiers, we aren't fighting "Honorable Warriors" we are fighting bloodthirsty animals, they strap bombs on their own children and send them out to kill, they dismember human bodies, they behead human beings for the whole world to see, they fly planes into buildings and purposely slaughter thousands of innocent civilians, women and children and they thank their God for allowing them to do it.

WHAT WE NEED IS MORE MERCENARIES JUST IMAGINE WHAT THE MUSLIM TERRORIST SAVAGE WOULD DO TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IF THEY COULD GET THEIR HANDS ON YOU.

You very well may see these terrorist savages in action again because it looks as though there is a very good chance that this Screaming Shreaking Head Bobbing Grinning wretched women Pant Suit Hillary will be our next President, put her together with the Auntie Pelosi Gang and the Muslim Terrorist will have a field day bombing every mall and stadium in America Pant Suit and her Gang will make it easy for them because they will be busy making plans to tell you what Doctor you should go to and trying to Ban Talk Radio.
    SUPPORT THE MERCENARIES
