How in the world is that not appropriate? It's a man gushing over how hot a woman over 18 is.
Well it happened on ESPN during a live game and not during a taping of Howard stern show. There is a difference.

I don't see how when it happened has any relevance when it comes to whether or not a man his age should still be gushing over a good looking woman.

What I thought was funny was hearing Matt "Leerer" Lauer giving Brent a bit of a scolding on the Today Show. C'mon Matt -- we saw that embarrassing interview with Ann Hathaway. Don't get all holy.

He brought up her panty-less photo right? Talking about frigging pervy. Basically telling her "Yep I saw the picture of your vagina"

Musburger in his old age just got a bit carried away. Although what did ESPN/ABC expect? Musburger probably didn't see her until the first time they cut to her. Old people tend not to be filtered and when you cut to some real hot 20 something year old and have a 73 year old horn dog on the mic this is what happens.

One team was crushing the other. The QB on the team that was winning has a girlfriend (Miss Alabama) and mom in the stands. The traditional pan to the family is done and, instead of the usual "Lovely" description, he calls her gorgeous.

Yeah, that's almost pornographic.

Agreed- His age has nothing to do with it.

He went a little overboard in showing his enthusiasm but commenting that AJ's GF is very attractive is totally fine.

Well if it was not out of the ordinary why was the story shown in all the local morning news today? Dont people like Jay leno and Conan go overboard when telling a lady how good she looks on the show? they do but does it make the news? no? because that sort of a thing is normal for the talk shows not for a live game on ESPN.

Is it considered normal if lets say Gruden starts talking about a hot cheerleader during a game and talks for about 2-3 minutes while using superlatives to describe her body?

This doesn't really respond to my post. Musberger is not Marv Albert.

I thought the part where Brent could be heard rummaging around in his Depends while yelling "ooga-booga" was especially inappropriate.

It's like my momma used to say: "It's okay to read the menu as long as you eat at home."

Waitress to newer waitress: "that creepy guy in the trenchcoat comes in twice a week to read the menu then leaves..."

It almost reminds me of this (@ the 30 second mark)!

What it shows is that there is something wrong with this country when a man gushing over an attractive woman on air makes news.

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with this country? Why can't an older man point out a woman's beauty? What's so creepy or inappropriate about that?

Thread needs more pictures, less text.

I got news for some of you younger guys, just because your father and grandfathers don't dog-whistle and tell you how they'd "like to tap that ass" doesn't mean they don't find attractive women attractive. There's a big difference between noticing and dating. If you lose that distinguishing attribute, then you might as well call it quits ;)

both my father and grandfather do that regularly

I for one would really enjoy an awkward moment or two with that fine young lady

In what universe is it inappropriate for a man to express admiration for the looks of a beauty pageant winner???
