now you will see the sharks coming out for BB again this season. i really dont understand this logic of BB is nothing without brady. Sure he needs brady to win but so does every coach need a qb. This is hypocritical of the highest order. these idiots claimed spygate helped the pats. so it must mean it helped brady right ? no...brady was still a HOF QB but they cant accept that bb is one..

Yeah, there's no logic. What about Jimmy Johnson without Aikman, Chuck Noll without Bradshaw, Mike Shannahan without Elway. Etc, etc.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

BB did nothing special in Cleveland without a star QB there and did not immediately come in in 2000 and win that year with Bledsoe who was O.K. but far from legendary like Brady is - This is going to either be his finest defining moment as a head coach or people will question whether he is good without Tom and I see no problem with it.

NE was 5-11 with BB in 2000 and 0-2 before Brady came in,that means BB was 5-13 BEFORE Brady but was always a defensive coach genius
    - Did BB just become great at the same time Brady came in or is it just that special connection between the two that has made this offense so competitive all these years - Time will tell weeks down the road whether BB was fortunate to have such a great HC QB relation that led to this decades success - We will see by week 8 where its going

surprisingly BB always says its the players and its the media which crowns him tobe a genius and they want to tear him down. this thing bothers me when idiots write something which cant be rebutted but fans or others. same with borges and mazzarotti . wish this chadiha had an email address and we could flood him.

lol, funiest thing is that if something happened and Brady was fine, but BB had to miss the season, everyone would say "prove its not all coaching/BB"

    these people are hilariously nuts

If you looked at the 3-13 team he inherited, before free agency, and saw where it was when he left, he did a very good job. No he didn't get to a SB - a lot of coaches don't in a small number of years - but he looked like he was on his way until the rug was pulled from under him.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

They'll never say it, not in a billion years, but their guy Dungy without Manning too. How bout Parcells and Belichick (for a coach comparison point)? How bout Walsh and Montana? If you look at the list of Super Bowl winners, most of the time the QBs are very good. This is not by accident.

It's ridiculous logic. Not to mention the fact that we don't know what Cassel is. He might be good enough to get the Pats to the playoffs. He might be a terrible terrible player. So if Matt Cassel stinks, it proves BB is nothing without Brady, but if Cassel is good, it proves that BB knows what he's talking about? Please. Cassel might be good, he might be bad. You can't jump to conclusions based on something we know nothing about.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

Thats true but as a NE head coach, his record WITHOUT BRADY as a starter is 5 wins and 13 losses as a NE Patriot HC

While a HC can only do so much its as simple as writing on the wall that the combo of BB and Belichick have worked so well over the years and now BB gets a big test of how truly great he is as an offensive mastermind without his star QB now

If Belichick is as great as most think he is as a HC he will have this team on track for the playoffs this year - Not the Super Bowl becuase thats asking a lot but making the playoffs would quiet all sceptics - Missing the playoffs will open a lot of questions for some.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

dont know much about his cleveland days but he was turning that team around . they went 10-6 and the next season after 4 games their owner announced they are moving. not exactly a recipe for success. he cut kosar but tell me what happened to kosar after that ? nothing.
How was brady in 2001 ? how did bb manage a team with a star qb out , qb coach passing away ?
Why does he have to prove anything i dont get it. just because people dont like him or because we have high expectations of the pats ?What did jimmy johnson do with dan marino ? what has shanahan done without elway ? why arent these questions be asked

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

You guys can argue against the past HCs and thier star QBs and the success they had but how many times have Bradshaw and Montana missed an entire season like this case is

If I am not mistaken Knoll never had to be confronted with what BB is now going through because Bradshaw never missed a whole season and I think the same was for Walsh even though Walsh was fortunate enough to have the best #2 backup in NFL history in Steve Young

So we will never how how THOSE coaches would have done with a sudden situation like BB is having now

I thought you were arguing that Belichick DOES have something to prove, now you seem to be going backwards.

and they vote him coch of the yr for some reason and also wanted him suspended last yr because it would be a more severe blow to the team. what did lombardi do without starr ? i believe he went to coach washington ..am i right ?

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

You are right that Shanahan was only a great coach with Elway and subpar record wise without him but hew is still one of the smartest out there, similar to BB and now BB goes though the same situation and we will see how he does without his 'elway'

Jimmy Johnson and Aikman were the combo in the 90s that BB and Brady are today and who knows if Johnson didn't suddenly leave Dallas would he have been the best HC of all times.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

Who drafted Brady? Who instructed Brady what he had to do to get better? Who was criticized for sticking with Brady when Bledsoe healed up? And remember only a few years ago Brady was considered a system QB who would not be so successful on another team?

    ESPN media is a joke.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

Just because Brady had a monster year last year with moss, that doesnt mean Brady is the be all and end all.

for the last 6 years, Brady has been a poised QB who won close games because BB coached well and managed well and gave his QB and team who ever they might be a chance to win.

Lets not forget that the rams and the panthers superbowl win came off the foot of a kicker.

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

No,I am pretty much staying the same course but may have confused you,What I am saying is BB has the unfortunate job of trying to maintain another great year without a player like Brady who many say have made his HC career what it is today

The other HOF coaches in years past never had to do that so they will never be questioned because those HCs records are history and set in stone and wer efortunate that they were never tested to coach a full year without thier star QB to see how they would have fared

BB has to prove he can do it with no matter who is at QB and maintain his legendary status or people will say he is just a product of a far superior HC/QB relationship that made his HC career legendary

    Understand?

sure..but no one argued if it was walsh or montana. both are accepted as greats today. why cant the same be said of BB and brady ?
and here is something to ponder on

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

So you think if Bledsoe was QB all these years this team would have won 3 super bowls even with BB as coach?

You have got to be kidding

BB and Brady have that special relationship so deep that the result was such a great decade so far

If BB has another super year this year then IMO there is no shadow of a doubt that he is the best of all times

BUT if the team falls to 8-8 or something like that how can you not question whether his HC career was a result of his teaming up with Brady to form what is an unbeatable combo

I personally think all these years that Brady complimented BB's HC career and BB complimented Brady's QB career and IMO neither would be very special without each other

Did Brady join forces with BB to make BB a legendary head coach as he is today? or is BB now just that damn good and can do it with an untalented QB who has not started a game since High School? - Ask me in about 6 weeks from now for the answer

Re: ESPN:prove its not all brady

Donavan mcnabb, eli manning, phillip rivers, drew brees, no not drew bledsoe. Those guys with BB can probally get it done.
