They had this segment on sportscenter and when they ran it they played brady on WEEI saying "We want to dominate teams, we want to kill them, we dont want to win 28-22. We want to build momentum. We dont want to be up 42-7 and the look up and see its 42-28."

They conviniently ignored what he said about the running up the score accusations . ESPN is just getting worse at manipulating the complete facts even with the randall gay quote. No wonder BB and pats provide so less media interviews.

    Re: ESPN:"Brady Sounds off"

Just saw it, completely unfair and taken out of context!

They lead into the story "Tom Brady wants to 'kill' teams"!

    Re: ESPN:"Brady Sounds off"

i dont see whats wrong with what he said, most every player in the nfl goes into every game with the mentality to kill teams or dominate them , so whats the big deal, just the media making something over nothing , who really cares what anybody thinks the most important thing is the patriots are pleasing the fan base, and that all that matters, what the media says means nothing in the whole scheme of things, thats why i dont get the need to post every little thing the media says, maybewe should start posting what joe the corner butcher says to , he probably has as much insight as the media dummies

Players ... getting loose lips ...

First Gay and now Brady ...

Even Brady who should know by now how the media takes things
out of context to make a story is getting loose.
    Maybe it is intensional??

I hope BB has an extra few minutes to remind these guys how these
    sports media jackals work.
Even if you trust a certain newscaster... others will distort whats
been reported ... and the gossip will spread like wild fire.

ESPN will find it even harder to gain access to this team, IMO.

Who cares? You think it's going to be "bulletin board material"? Teams already know the Patriots are on a mission of retribution. Teams are already intimidated. Teams are already going into the game with the goal of keeping it close, rather than trying to win (just listen to the bills postgame comments). Comments like Brady's don't motivate the other team, they just reinforce what they already know - i.e., "we're in trouble."

I agree. At this point, isn't what Brady said kind of obvious? And now that he's said it, all of the sudden other teams will be motivated? Give me a break.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that the media was on the trail of a "story-line" and they weren't going to let go. Whatever they can find to feed the story-line, they'll use. Other stuff gets downplayed or ignored. That's the way it goes in most of the media now, and the sports media is some of the worst in the country. Just terrible.

Screw them all. If you don't want to win every single play, go find something else to do with your life. I like Brady's quote, and I LOVE Gay's.

The NFL is the pansiest league I've ever seen. Did the NBA go nuts when the Bulls were blowing everyone out by 20-30 every night in the 90s? Do teams moan and cry if the Sox keep hitting home runs when they're up by 10? But suddenly the NFL is a bunch of Miss Manners clucking over the poor, fragile psyches of the teams the Patriots play. What a freaking joke. I've seen youth leagues that had a stronger mentality than the bunch of Nancys in the NFL right now. Just pathetic.

I have no problem with Brady's comments. I know some of what he said was made to make him and the pats look like the bad guys. You should never what to win close games. You would like to win all your games the way the Patriots are. So I say stop listening to those morons.

"Coming up next on <insert one of SportsCenter, PTI, NFL Live, Outside the Lines, NFL Countdown>...the guys discuss <insert one of "who can beat the Pats", "the Pats running up the scores", "Moss vs. TO">. Later, we look at <insert story not used above>."

The situation hasn't changed for weeks but this continues to be a daily programming staple for ESPN. Same people talking about the same things. That is why folks are tired of hearing about the Pats, both positives and negatives. Can't say I blame them because if this were the Colts I would find ESPN unwatchable.

Thanks ESPN, I couldn't have figured that one out on my own by watching the games.

Is this ever the truth. I remember back when the Colts went....what 13-0? And I could not watch ESPN at all. It was just so completely obnoxious.

I'm actually a little surprised (and embarrased) by what Brady and Gay said. I'm very shocked Brady said "we wanna kill teams" , that was so un-Brady like. Nobody in any sport has ever said anything like that, they may think it, but they never say it. I think Belichick should talk to Brady and Gay, and tellem both to STFU. I'm sorry, I'm the biggest Pat's fan out there, but there is no need to say the things both of them are saying. Gay is another story, how dare he say the opponent's D shouldn't be paid, just because they gave up 56 doesn't mean they weren't trying. It just turns out that Buffalo just isn't nearly as talented as the Pats. Flame away fellas (and ladies), but this is just how I feel. Out of context or not, I heard both of them say these words.

honestly you need to listen to the whole interview and the questions that were asked. When the hosts keep asking about running up the score and why brady is in the game he responded. Also the complete quote sounds much different that what espn portrays. Same with Gay. He was asked what he thinks when opposing defensive players say we are running up the score. His response was directed at them .ESPN decided it was directed at the bills.

Now THAT was a stupid statement to make. Have you actually checked on all the comments every player for every team in every sport has EVER made?

    WOW!

You are free to have your opinion. This is the United States of America. When did the NFL become a Country onto themselves with a different set of rules. Aren't the players in the NFL entitled to the same freedom that we all enjoy as citizens?
Would I have preferred if they hadn't said those things? Sure. But they have the right to speak their minds and say what they want just like everyone else. I've heard much worse from other teams, and they didn't get crucified by the National media for it, or by their fans.

Oh boy, another one that bought the "Patriots as perfect robot angels" angle that the media spewed from 2001-2004.

You're absolutely right. Brady should have said "we want to squeak by teams," or "We want our games to go right down to the wire."

As much as it may pain you, these guys are human beings that, for the last 3 months straight, have had their integrity questioned on a daily basis, including by their local sports media and fans. I think I'll let them speak their mind, especially when what they said was NOT AT ALL disrespectful to their opponents. FYI, Gay was not talking about the Bills when he made his comments, he was referring to teams that had first disrespected the Pats by saying they ran up the score.
