The Central Intelligence Agency scored big Friday afternoon when the clandestine agency launched its new Twitter account with the tweet, “We can neither confirm nor deny that this is our first tweet."
MODERATOR'S NOTE ABOUT THIS THREAD
The sticky threads about pets and who we are were both languishing, so have been combined with this one to create one general thread for anything that's not political or controversial. Post photos, quotes, interesting links, jokes, ideas, photos of pets, stories about your lives, and have agreeable discussions. This can be a place to go when we're tired of debating and maybe want to find a little common ground. This is a friendly thread!
How about a conservative mystery series? I am very much into mysteries, and have recently been watching on Netflix Longmire. If you haven't seen it, I think it has good plot development, story lines, characters, and a great setting (takes place in rural Wyoming). As a liberal, I like it because it's really showing a different side of multi-culturalism. We want to celebrate the rugged western individualist as much as any other culture, be it gays or blacks, for instance. But, I think conservatives will really like this show: Longmire is really the new John Wayne -- a strong, tough as nails guys, who acts on principle first, the law second. Hes a real man's man, a true individualist. The actor is excellent, I think. One of his deputies, Vic, is a blonde woman from Philly, and she presents what I think is probably the image that people in rural areas have of urban northeasterners -- she's brash, loud, not too smart, etc. At first I didn't like her character, but then I realized she's a parody of us big city northeasterners.

Thank God for technology. I wonder what people did before they had machines like this.
